Fast and furious run down of all that is good in this genre at the moment. Inspired by the Short Music for Short People compilation. The Display Team (formerly Mumrah see Huzzah (they have a new album but it's not been released yet), Sonic Boom Six (see also The Ruff Guide to Genre Terrorism) and JB conspiracy (see also This Machine) were the highlights for me. The inevitable misses were few and I'd rather not give my own opinion on who was not so good. There are 99 songs so the occasional bad one doesn't spoil things and all-in-all it's a great listen and awesome value for money too.

I've seen this band live and they put on a good show, lots going on, very up feel to them. And many of the songs are excellent - for example, "I'm Wondering" is a little classic. I wish I'd written it! If you want a more cheerful Richard & Linda Thompson then this is the band for you!

No collection of mere cast-offs (but then NOFX seem to have a grasp of irony that is almost unique among Americans), this collection of 47 tracks contains some of the band's finest work. Some songs - such as Murder the Government, Eat the Meek and I'm Telling Tim - crop up in slightly different form on other albums, while others are drawn from B-sides, compilations and the previously 7"-only Surfer and Fuck the Kids EPs. For your money, you get punk, ska, hardcore, serious tracks, hilarious tracks and covers. The many stand-out tracks include Vincent, Drugs are Good, We Threw Gasoline on the Fire..., Three on Speed and the aforementioned I'm Telling Tim. The only tracks to which the title really applies are a rather lame cover ... Read More:

Can't believe the 5 star reviews. This is the first album in a long time where I couldn't wait for it to end. I found myself willing tracks to finish so we could move on to the next one and see if it was any better - it generally wasn't! Nothing new, nothing imaginative, nothing exciting, nothing that sticks in your mind. Your money could be better spent elsewhere.
