. Twisted Thought GeneratorSearch: Wasted by: Velvet Acid Christ Release Date November 27, 2000 After many months of searching for the ultimate album, I have found it. This is VAC's finest creation and worthy of purchase by anyone into the genre although it may offend many of the non converts. It's dark, mysterious and has a distinct euphoric feel to it. Pounding sounds, rasping voices that tear through you. The theme is inevitably based around drugs, but the lyrics and sounds are graphically illustrating what they really can do to you rather than praising them. I can't really describe how good it is - you'll have to listen yourselves and decide... I've made my decision. |

The "Arising Realm" line-up is the same as on the "Nattferd" album, with Thyme on vocals, Jerv on bass, Jontho on drums and Rym on guitar. However, a special appearance from Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir on synth makes this album very special. The album open's with "Intro", a beautiful instrumental played by Shagrath, 2 minutes of genius. A crack of thunder follows and Ragnarok burst into the second song, "God is Wasted"; pure, heavy, satanic, raw metal, and probably the best song on the album. The satanic theme continues through the album. The lyrics are violent, gory and loathing Christianity ("The Fall of Christianity" is a good example of this). This superb display of ... Read More: |

I cannot imagine why. Unless... you're into punk and electro with horrific singing and bad lyrics. Now put the words 'punk' and 'electro' together and it sounds like a fun concept. I found almost no fun in this album, just abrasive sounds and nothing to get my feet moving, let alone my hips. I imagine a lot of people will like this sound, but I had to send it back after a couple of listens. Normally I'd give an album a much longer period of time to infiltrate my taste, but I knew this one wasn't going to work. I gave it 2 stars because there were one or two tracks that were just ok.
