The Singles Collection [Box Set]

It has been now 17 years since Freddie's death and we still haven't had a Queen Box Set of Rarities etc. like the Freddie Mercury one. Now they are releasing singles box sets, why? Most fans have all these songs either on the studio albums or various Greatest Hits packages (Ok except See What A Fool I've Been on certain countries albums). Queen fan completists will buy this album, but I certainly will not. Yes great songs this set but its really an expensive Greatest Hits 1 type package with the singles b sides and you can pick up the albums on the net quite cheaply if you look around. C'mon Queen Productions give us a decent release, not rehashing of old stuff

Djangology/To Bi or Not to Bi

The first CD labelled 'A tribute to Django Reinhardt' is Bireli playing his modern jazz with a big band. Notably I think fans of Bireli will be pleased to hear him exploring the music, the big band at times adds great insight into the standards. Bireli's playing is modern in this CD, and it is definitely technical and proficient. He pushes himself musically where he actually sings on two of the tracks. 'Good Life' and 'Shadow of your smile'. His vocals sounds a little awkward but honest at the same time. I found that the big band arrangements were good, but doesn't do enough in my opinion in exploring the music. Hung for the Holidays [Us Import]

I'm so glad that Mr. Hung has turned out another CD. The first one is looking a little scratched and battered from overuse, and really is not suitable for the festive season.

I may not be a designer on Changing Rooms, but I like to decorate my house just like any other normal person. Try these ideas this year, and see the difference an original Hung can make:

Hunging tree ornament - very simple to make - take one garbage bag tie; tape it to the front of the CD; turn around so the shiny side faces out; tie to branch of tree. Reflects all Christmas lights. Can be used indoors and outdoors.

I first saw Dawn of the Dead years ago on Betamax, when I was really far too young to be watching such nasty movies. Since that first viewing I have been an obsessive fan of this highly influential masterpiece. The old soundtrack album by Goblin was pretty good but, as anyone will tell you, the essential music was all missing from the album!

It's great to have this gem in my collection and to FINALLY have all those now-nostalgic soundtrack tunes. It is way long overdue but hey, better late than never!

... i wouldnt listen to it more than a few times

Its essentially all those great songs we used to sing along to and change the words to suit recorded with the words already changed by other performers who lets face it, dont sound remotely like the originals

with the exceptions being the land of hope and glory and jerusalem and a couple of the others that were done well
