A band like Milky Wimpshake have to exist if only to remind us that all good music doesn't have to be deep, worthy, serious and make a point. Here's an album which seems to find it difficult to take itself seriously, it's pure, unadulterated indie-pop thrills from beginning to end, brimming as it does with very silly yet catchy songs. Even when Milky Wimpshake attempt to tackle serious subjects such as politics, the results are hilarious, as evidenced by their 'vitriolic' attack on Jack Straw. If you're a dedicated indie snob like me then enjoying this album may seem a bit of a guilty pleasure, but if you just think of them as a less clever, less witty, less talented version of Ooberman, then it's not such a bad thing really.
