First thing to mention here is that this cd does NOT contain live recordings but STUDIO ORIGINALS. In fact, 'Whodunit' is a great, intelligently complied collection that proves a real treat both for existing fans and lovers of great soul music. Though little known outside of the U.S R&B market, tracks like the super soulful 'Never Had A Love Like This Before' and 'Turn Out The Nightlight' are worth buying this for alone. Other highlights include the excellent ballad 'Loneliness' (from perhaps the groups least successful album 'Love Uprising' the good title track of which is also included here) the funkiest track on the collection 'Loveline', a typical KASHIF written dancer and the flop 1977 U.K single 'I Wanna See You Soon' featuring vocalist ... Exactly why this should be so is not clear to me, but although Tavares were by no means the most important group of their era, they recorded some great songs.
