There's always an optimistic sound about The Fold which is unsurprising considering the band members are Christians. However the songs are not overtly faith based with lyrics that could be interpreted either way and the music itself is of the highest quality. Add this to your collection.

I bought this for a friend and was chuffed to bits when we put it on my system but was gutted when he took it home. The wacky American, Freddy Fresh, mixes up a treat of old skool funky tunes, which you just can't help but move to. This upbeat CD is great just to chill out to (in a funky way) or equal apt to kick-start a party. The classic tunes are a refreshing change to the cheese crammed into the sadly popular, cash-in, compilation albums that are so common in the shops. The only slight disappointment is that the entire CD is 1 track rather than split up into multiple. This hampers navigation but since the first tune is fantastic and rest just get better, there's no need. All you need to do is stick it on and get stuck in...

I appreciate the early stuff as much as the next person. BUT there were so many more better tracks that I know are there somewhere amongst the full on Network discography. I am thinking about the period that I was a Raver that being 1990-95 and then Jungle drum n bass afterwards. I personally own a few of those 12" records. Reading the notes in the disc box the owners of network say a lot about pre 90's rave music and then seem to be all wrapped up in Altern8 and making them into a pop group, which is what they are/were-anyway. If like me you prefered the more underground sound of 1990 then you remember that as well as releasing a lot of blinding tunes Network released some extremely dodgy tunes as well? What a pleasure to listen to a compilation album not filled with gimicky chart songs. What wonderful music - I have never heard any of these tracks what a great CD to play to friends and family and pretend that you were part of that club scene - Buy several copies as friends will want to take it from your CD collection.
