The Philharmonia Orchestra is outstanding and the CD is worth buying just to listen to the overture. If I am being very picky then I have to say that the singing is a little uneven in parts; for my tastes Ninetta sometimes too dramatic; Giannetto too down beat. But nevertheless a 2-disc set I am very glad to own. |

. The Story So FarSearch: Yesterday by: Stiff Little Fingers Release Date March 19, 2007 Obviously this album's good- it's Stiff Little Fingers. But there's something very strange here. I don't know who did the selection. They have taken no songs from the albums 'Flags and Emblems' or 'Get a Life' and 5 from the appalling album 'Tinderbox' (easily the worst album the band ever did). I can only think that the omission of songs from those two albums was due to a question of copyright licence. How could you possibly envisage a genuine best of without 'Harp', 'Walk Away', 'Baby Blue', 'Each Dollar a Bullet', 'A long way to Paradise'? If it is down to copyright you feel a bit cheated. If the selection's not down to copyright you feel that someone very weird indeed has chosen the songs! |
