The first thing you think about when you see a band trying to hark back to their glory days is "they've obviously created a crap piece of work, and they need to link it to the glory days to help sell the thing"

Well, if you do think that then you're probably not that far off the mark.

A major word of warning here. If you are expecting to listen to part 3 of the wonderful Keeper albums then you are going to be VERY sorely disappointed. Deris is a fine vocalist, but why oh why do they have to go back to the Kiske era? Helloween have put out some fine tunes during the Deris era, so there's no need to do this. This album sounds nothing like Keepers, and was really misleading to the fans to label it as such.

Trish's music is hard to classify. It isn't country but there are definite country influences. Trish knows how to rock but I wouldn't call this rock music either. Frankly, it doesn't mater what you classify this music as (probably alt-country), it's the quality that counts.

Trish wrote or co-wrote most of the songs, but proved she can do covers too with her great cover of Nancy Sinatra's These boots are made for walking. Her own songs focus on a variety of topics, even including a shoot-out (Sunday). I confess that the lyrics of Trish's own songs are sometimes difficult to understand though that won't matter if you play this as background music.

The album title is taken from a phrase in one of the songs (Vanilla sun), a ballad in ... Read More:

"Ignorance Is Bliss" is a bold, fantastic and rewarding album - it is also the album which very nearly killed Face To Face. Sadly, despite it's mantra of non-conformity a lot of punk music fans are merely conforming to a different and arguably more stringent and strangulating set of rules and when Face To Face chose to stretch themselves as artists and explore new possibilities and horizons, a large chunk of their fan base screamed "Sell Out" and either turned their back on the band or worse still went to concerts and actually booed them!
