alongside the air guitar compilations this latest batch of rock classics can hold its own against many other compilations that have so much filler yet hardly any killer tracks to head bang or air guitar along to.

So far this is the best rock compilation its track listings are faultless yet the dvd of the same title also rocks with the videos to the songs that is seperate from this one.

highly recommended.

The previous reviewer could not understand why this compilation why such great value. I can probably enlighten him... They have cut some of the greatest songs on here right back. For instance, the mighty 'Purple Rain'- you just start getting into the song and the solo begins... and it gets faded out! (At about 4 minutes in). This is a cardinal sing and means this set is virtually worthless. Another noticable fade is the great Python Lee Jackson song, 'In a broken dream'. What were they thinking???

Not all songs are cut (i.e. the rule seems to be if it runs loger than 4 and a half minutes we'll cut it.)

Tragic - had great potential.

This is a surprising collection in that with most rock collections you get the usual songs but with this collection the tracklist is surprising and very varied and rather than rely on the standard rock song's (Ace Of Spades, All Right Now and so on) this offers an array of bands from Glam (The Sweet), Classic Rock (ZZ Top, Alice Cooper), Metal (Judas Priest, Pantera) Alt-Rock (Screaming Trees), Grunge (Alice In Chains).

Add to that the fact that you may own some of these songs (as I do) I was quite surprised to find the bulk of this collection was new to me. Add to that the fact that it is 100 songs over five discs at such a great price and you can't go wrong.

There are some great varity of rock tracks from many decades of music including my favorites, "Total Eclipse Of The Heart", "Heaven", "We Buit This City", "White Wedding", "You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth" and many, many more.
If your into brilliant songs, this is a set for you because there really isn't a bad cut contained within the three discs. This really is the very best of power ballads and super value, if your into this style of music and the great artists who sing them --- you will not be disapointed and really should invest in a copy. All were big hits to!
