Having seen the show live in the west end I was pleased as punch to see that this had been released. This truly is the dream cast. Ruthie Henshall, Michael Ball, Philip Quast are all simply sensational. From the opening through to the barricades to the bitter sweet ending it's perfect. Listen out for Philip Quast as he sings 'Stars' just stunning. colm Wilkinson is wonderful as Jean Valjean. And ruthie henshall is stunning as Fantine. the perfect show with the perfect cast. Leah Salonga is worthy of a mention for her stunning portrayal of Eppoinine. Stunning, simply stunning!

I bought this film after watching the first, and it is not as good. But that doesnt matter because i wasnt expecting it ot be. The storyline is nonsense and the animation of the Scorpion King was dreadful but they brought back much loved charcters and Rick and Evie's 8 yeard old son Alex. The fight scenes were good and the little pygmies mummies were great.
The thing that brought it down a star was was the fact, they sacrificed the horror like in the first one, to make it a 12 rating.
Overall, I felt the film was just a simple film, brought out after the sucess of the first but enjoyable to watch.
Release Date February 09, 1998
I bought this for my 6 and 9 year old girls, we watched it once and they told me they never want to see it again.
They sat horror-struck at the worsening cruelty and rejection suffered by the poor horse. Me too.I kept wondering why it's hailed as a great family film when we all felt miserable by the end! Not even seeing Sean could cheer me up.
I daren't even give it to a charity shop for fear of traumatising any more kids.

"Caroline is clever, Emily is a mother to me, Louisa is an angel and Cecilia is a child. I am a disappointment."
That line (uttered by Sarah Lennox) sums up the tumultuous "Aristocrats," a sumptuous, glittering miniseries about the famous and/or infamous Lennox sisters, who were the great-granddaughters of Charles II and his mistress Louise de Kérouaille. Solid acting and a wonderfully soapy storyline make this a great historical drama, but it spins way out there in the last episode.
The Lennox family splinters when the eldest daughter, Caroline (Serena Gordon) falls in love with an older, ambitious politician, Mr. Fox -- and scandalously elopes with him. Emily (Geraldine Somerville) takes a different approach when she falls for the ... Read More:

The Royal Shakespeare Theatre production of Nicholas Nickleby had to be a masterpiece and a must for anyone who enjoys good theatre. Dickens has once again brought to life London and its environs in his dramatic tale of power and greed and the effect it has on the lives of rich and poor alike. Everything about this production is first class, from actors to staging. Although perhaps long, the viewer's attention is firmly held at all times. A definite must for the video/DVD library.

Unlike many of the TV series that produced a spin off film this one is actually funny and well worth viewing more than once.
Bob is having a mid life crisis so wife Thelma suggests that they go away for a caravanning weekend to Northumberland - caravans being a well known cure for most of life's troubles apparently - together with Terry and his current Finnish girlfriend Chris.
Needless to say it's a catalogue of mishaps. Bob's marriage is in trouble resulting in him moving in with Terry who has been dumped and is back to his usual "sensitive" self. As with all 70's films the fashions are well worth a chuckle - Thelma sports a particularly fetching purple "fondu party" type dress which is borderline offensive.
