My daugther is absolutely crazy about Sesame Street especially Elmo. This story is so lovely and warming it definelty gives all kids, no matter what age that special tingle for Christmas. I recommend this video for toddlers (18months up) and it's a story grown ups will enjoy too.

In the first half of the video Elmo learns some valuable lessons about sharing with his friends. There are some great songs, and appearances from nursery favourites such as the three little pigs and Jack and Jill (beware my baby was terrified of the big, bad wolf for months and could only watch that part on fast forward). The songs are great - you'll end up humming them as you walk down the street; and Elmo and Zoe are the cutest monsters ever. The second part of the video looks at how kids are all different and yet the same. The songs steal the day and keep my 8 month old quiet so they can't be bad .... This is definately a video that can be watched again and again ...

It was great to see all your old Muppet friends in a classic. The singing adds a new dimension to the story. Not that "Sixteen Men on a Deadman's Chest" is not good in its self. And the beautiful Benjamina Gunn added a more romantic touch. By the way if you enjoy the singing skulls you may also want to view the movie "8 Heads in a Dufflbag" with George Hamilton. The song "Cabin Fever" will have you singing along.

Talk about sophisticated dialog.
Benjamina Gunn says, "You left me standing at the altar!"
Captain Smollet replies, "I was on a ship headed for Zanzibar. I got cold feet."

Some high-lights of this video are, Elmo with Julia Roberts, Elmo with Whoopi Goldbergh, Elmo singing his song & really everything on this video with Elmo.

"Tell the Truth" involves Telly monster telling a fib to impress his friends,which of course becomes too complicated and shows Telly and young viewers why it's important to tell the truth. As usual there are lots of catchy songs and jolly stories with the flashes of genius Sesame Street fans will know. It's also worth it to see Dennis Quaid singing and attempting to dance. "A New Baby in Our House" is delightful. Even my 12-year old loves it. As well as being helpful for youngsters with new babies, it has a happy little story of Prince Firstly and his baby sister. We are a family of Sesame Street lovers and bought this video because of our favourites, Bert and Ernie, on the cover. The video is a real disappointment however. The first episode revolves around the dubious singing ability of the character of Selina, and if she's not to your taste the whole episode is rather irritating. The dancing appeals to the children watching however as they can easily join in. The second episode has the characters Mike and Gina and a group of children in a disco setting dancing to another collection of songs. However, 3 of these songs are repeated from the first episode, at which we were very disappointed. That said, there are still some gems, such as "The Batty Bat" and "Doing the Pigeon".

I grew up on Sesame Street and bought this for my 15 month old with some trepidation about introducing the television into her world. However, it's been a real success. Each episode is 30 mins long, which is an ideal amount of time for a child to be 'plugged in', and the whole family sings along with each other. It actually keeps this wiggly kid still so in my opinion, its worth its weight in gold. I definitely recommend this for exhausted parents needing 5 minutes peace and wanting to ensure their children are watching something worthy.
