Release Date November 17, 2003
Although the events of this film sit within the time-scale of the original, it is an interesting exploration of some of the untouched themes from its predecessor.
The Beast's dislike of Christmas is assumed by the audience to be simple 'Scrooge'-ism. As the story unfolds, we discover a deeper, more personal rationale for his aversion.
The addition of new characters - Forte (voiced by Tim Curry) and Fife (Paul Reubens - aka Pee-Wee Herman) - gives the story room to expand.
Ultimately, though, this one is strictly for the real fans - or at least, completists! :)

Despite Home Alone 1 being an absolute classic, I've always liked this better than the first. There's more of a story, more lovely scenes and more traps. I recommend both Home Alone 1 and 2, and possibly number 3. Enjoy! These are real Christmas treats!

The family (mum, dad, daughter 10, son 8) saw this at the cinema and really enjoyed it. Its works well on the small screen as well and has quite a serious storyline, although to be honest the kids have only watched it a few times, so perhaps try renting as well - they prefered to watch their many hours of TV Wild Thornberry episodes on video instead, as there is far more variety (and even I enjoy watching them). However this is a very successful movie translation with a strong conservationist story. It's not unlike Tarzan really with it's England public school sequences. Your children would probably appreciate the film more if they are familiar with the TV series (but then they will have probably seen it already). Unfortunately the TV series isn't ... Read More:

Whilst watching this film a giant frog put his eye up to the window and tried to look at me, I can only assume this has something to do with the film and I will not be watching it again.
Release Date February 12, 2001
I'll leave it to Tim from the superb TV comedy 'Spaced' to explain, quite rationally, why this film is awful: "It's boil-in-the-bag perversion for sexually repressed accountants and first-year drama students with too many posters of Betty Blue, The Blues Brothers, Big Blue and Blue Velvet on their blue bloody walls!" Thank you and goodnight.

I watched this film twice, and the first time I forward wound through the horror parts because I was on my own! This meant that it wasn't very effectively scary the second time I watched IT, but I still enjoyed the film... up to a point! The first half was great (people have said the acting was wooden but how old were all the actors? About 14! I thought it was pretty decent) but the second half...
The thing that bugged me was how the first half seemed to be the children, and the second half the adults. If the film knitted together the years much like the book does, then I would have liked it a lot more. I started to get fed up when the adults merely told stories about the past, rather than allowing us to view them.

I began to watch this film without expecting much. Admittedly, it does not feature the best animation, but that is not the most important feature in an animated film. It's not the 'Lion King' or 'Dinasaur', but I don't think that it was meant to be. The story is about a love triangle between a good-guy penguin named Hubie, his sweetheart Marina and the egotistical and pompous Drake - this penguin is willing to stoop or bully his way to any level to marry Marina, who is not very interested in him. Hubie must beat the clock to find the most precious pebble and make it back in time, braving all kinds of weather and challenging situations in order to wed Marina. This love-triangle theme of the film was not too 'grown-up', was handled well, and is suitable for ... Read More:

Although this movie is short enough to have been in it's entirety on ONE side; it has been SPLIT in half and you have to flip the disc over to view the whole movie.
The ONLY advantage this DVD has over the US/Canada version (which is in it's entirety on ONE side) is that this DVD is Anamorphic Widescreen (whereas the US/Canada version is NON-Anamorphic Widescreen).
