Again cannibal corpse return, with a new bloadsoaked death metal blast. This band are brutal, but if you're reading this then i guess you already know this. Basically, in their 15 years of exisistence, the 'corpse have not seen fit to change their (admittedly winning) formula one jot. I suggest you pick up "tomb of the mutilated" cause that is one sick puppy of an album. If you dig that, then its likely you'll ripping it up to to this one, but I think it's only fair to say this is just more of the same!

This album is simply bloody marvellous (ironic). I loved the title track and I feel it makes great family listening in the car. My Dad is even more of a fan than me now and my Mum's really getting into it too. The subtle vocals and harmonies make this music absolutely epic. Waking up to these guys after a heavy trip on my farm in Somerset is simply divine. I recommend this album over anything else, even slipknot. Also if you like this sort of music I'd recommend 1. Jack Johnson and 2.Dusty Springfield. Thanks for your time. Love you guys.

I thought that East 17 had disbanded, but here they are again disguised as a death metal band, it's no good guys you still sound the same except your chart hits didn't sound quite so bad.

being only a relativly new to the genre of death metal 18 months ago this was my first dose of death metal ... without listening to much metal in the first place i may add but as soon as george corpsegrinder fishers scream of KIIIIILLL!!!!! i was completely and utterly blown away by the sheer brutality of the album and an instant fan of the band and death metal as a whole.
my fave songs from the album are the time to kill is now, necrosadistic warning, five nails through the neck (album highlight), death walking terror, submergered in boiling flesh and infinite misery. But the whole album will blow your head off it's neck while you head bang yourself to buggery (which is a good thing... in case you are not familular with metal music in general)

The first album featuring george 'corpsegrinder' on vocals,in fact this album was written and previous vocalist chris barnes did roar on these tracks but they were recorded with george on vocals and in 1996 this was released.
With cannibal corpse, one should know what to expect, death metal with gore fuelled lyrics and more gore, horror has rarely touched the torture these lads talk of,this is sick and perverse music and the lyrics match nicely.I was thinking the other day as i watched a local death metal band in belfast, will there ever be a time when death metal bands sing of love and flowers, probably not and thats why it is a music for a select few,and with that in mind, there are better death metal albums out there,in fact cannibal corpses the bleeding is their ... My favourite of the Corpse discography, it's the most technical, and most diverse album of the lot. Whilst all the tracks are death metal and do not stray into other sub-genres of metal (or other genres of music), the album manages to avoid filler and each song is it's own i.e. no rehashing of riffs or predictable power chord bashing.
In my opinion, this is the most technical Cannibal Corpse album and is also what many Corpse fans claim they reach their zenith.
Also to note whilst the track listing looks morbid, reading the lyrics and listening to the music reveals that the album is tongue in cheek rather than anything to be taken seriously.
If you bought just one Cannibal Corpse album, make sure it's this one.

Some will say that with napalm death that you know what you are gonna get,in some instances that is true, the word brutal is laced through all their prior 12 studio albums and that doesnt leave this new release, however when one considers that their debut album 'scum' was filled with tracks under a minute long and how they ditched that after 2 albums then there is a change for you, skip forward to 'diatribes' and you get a more accessible sounding napalm death and then with 'the code is red...' you got the band introducing guest singers so the band like to keep people guessing, with latest release 'smear campaign' the gloves are off as this is a fierce album that contains backing shriek screaming that would frighten any screamcore singer, and thats only the backing vocals as ... Cannibal Corpse are routinely derided by Death Metal snobs, but the fact remains that their first 4 albums are classics of the genre.
'Butchered At Birth' is their 1991 sophomore release and still sounds supremely brutal: the music has a distinctly claustrophobic feel, the sick guitar tone is strangely dry (yet suffocatingly brutal) and because it lacks a deep bass sound allows the ugliness of Chris Barnes' vocals to shine through ... or at least gargle up from the gutter!
In my opinion this is one of Barnes' best vocal performances, along with that of 'The Bleeding' and 'True Carnage' (with Six Feet Under).
This album is pure death metal sickness from start to finish, with nary a chance to recover from the vileness of one song before the next onslaught ... Read More:
