Based on the previous review, I bought this cd primarily to hear Matt's version of Yesterday When I was Young. However another song has eclipsed it in my opinion. "Diana" is incredibly beautiful and this song alone is worth the price of this double-cd collection. I also enjoyed the rare songs "Mama Packed A Picnic Tea", "How Do You Do" and "First Of May". I am deducting one star for the redundant songs on this compilation that make it difficult to hear the rare ones. I wish EMI will place all the rare songs together so that we don't have to use the remote so often to skip the familiar ones which are on countless compilations. Why can't EMI UK give us WEDNESDAY's CHILD in STEREO when my Collectables cd from USA can? I also wish the version of ... Read More:

The Ultimate Matt Monro

This is another amazing collection of the velevety tones of the master. But the best surprize is the release of five new tracks never released to CD before. It's been a long time coming and is aptly fitting for the 20th Anniversary. It's a great easy listening collection of his well known hits and will bring back some wonderful memories to the listener. It's also a treat that some of the oldies have been remastered. Well done EMI. Fantastic

This is a much better 'Best of' compilation of Perry Como recordings than some!

A 'Best of' compilation certainly gives you more freedom of song selection, but whether that luxury has been used to it's full potential is another matter!

This collection includes a nice selection of the popular Juke-box classics such as 'Magic moments' and 'Catch a falling star'. The collection also includes such classics as 'It's impossible' and 'And I love you so' - which certainly proved that Perry could still do well in the charts in the Rock and Pop 1970's!

Hits Collection

If you were born in the late 1940's to early 1950's then you will be more than familiar with Dusty Springfield. She was on TV more than most, (and we only had 3 channels), and out of the 21 tracks on here virtually every one of them was a single. It's one of those great CD's where, even if you have a lousy voice, you put it on and find yourself singing along. Dusty may have been more for Mum's and Dad's at the time, but growing up when her hits were around, I find I enjoy this album more now than ever before. Nostalgia. That's what it is. And Dusty's unique voice is better than any around today!

The Best Of (1)

As per most of the other reviews of this CD it's a good compilation, for a ridiculously cheap price, however i really only bought this CD for "Solitary Man" and "Girl, you'll be a woman soon". Sadly both tracks are taken from the Live album "Hot August Night", though this is not indicated by the usual "(Live)" on the track listing. So be warned, if you want studio versions of these or "Kentucky woman" which is taken from the album "Gold-Live" look elsewhere.

The Best Of The Mamas And The Papas

Listening to the Mammas and the Papas was a real nostalgia trip but how I hate CD's with tracks that fade out before they finish, it totally spoils the experience. I have a vision of a man behind the stage at a live performance turning a big volume control down leaving the group playing and singing silently to a bemused audience. Had the tracks all been full length I would have given this CD 4 stars.
