When you are looking for something you can sit and listen to with lights dimmed and drink at hand, then this is surely it. Sinatra's voice is at its expressive best, so much so, if you close your eyes you could be on the next bar stool.
A superb colection of saloon songs that ranks among Sinatra's best.
Release Date November 02, 1992
A truely great album. Sit back and let Sinatra take you on his world tour. From the first bars of the title track to the last of 'I Love Paris' this is a beautifully engaging collection of songs that follow the theme throughout.
For all fans of Sinatra, this is a must for your collection.
Release Date July 08, 1991
This is a joyous Sinatra recording, featuring some marvellous songs.
The whole album is non stop entertainment with Frank Sinatra showing off his talent in spades.
This is an album that is in a similar bracket to "Songs For Swining Lovers" & although not quite as good as that masterpiece, is a swinging, upbeat collection of Sinatra classics.
My personal favourites are "Stars Fell On Alabama" & "I Got It Bad and That Aint Good" but every song is hugely enjoyable.
Release Date February 08, 1988
I have racked my brains for some time as to what the finest Sinatra album of them all is. Having listened to all but a few of them I can safely say the job gets more difficult the more you listen to. In my humble opinion I can break down his finest five into this list; "Sinatra and Strings", "September of my Years", "Sinatra and Swingin' Brass", "Moonlight Sinatra" and "Sinatra Sings For Only The Lonely". This is a debateable topic, and if something said to me "No you're wrong. Songs for Swingin' Lovers is the best", I would not argue with them, as each album holds a special place in everyone's heart for personal reasons. However there is no doubt to the musical prowess of this album.
I can narrow my greatest album list to Five, but I cannot rank ... Read More:

The name Frank Sinatra is synonymous with with Jazz, Swing and Orchestral sound of music. He had an unmatched vocal talent and his music will always be viewed as legendary. It's hard to believe it's just over 10 years since we unfortunately lost this musical great. The Platinum collection compiles all of his classic greats that anyone and everyone would recognise instantly. His music wasn't made in the same way as todays standards. It wasn't released album by album, and you didn't need crazy looking music videos in order to get people to pay attention. It was music created solely to be performed in front of small audiences at such places like the legendary Copacabana night club. It wasn't music created with cheap gimmicks or a fancy look, it was music. Music from the ... Read More:

An emotive, reflective, heart achingly beautiful album. The sadness. The yearning. The longing. It is all here in these wonderful songs. If you have ever loved and lost, then this is the album for you.
Release Date November 02, 1992
Frank Sinatra was a pioneer of the 'concept album', where the album's songs were all of an ilk that complimented one another and created an overall mood or theme. Sinatra's themes varied from album to album - there were the saloon/torch songs, the gentle swinging ballads, and in this case, the all-out swinging dance tunes.
This is the finest example of the latter that Sinatra recorded, each song creating a mood perfectly at home on a dance floor in the 50s. There are so many highlights in this album, it's difficult to pick favourites. From the inviting title track to the closing "Last Dance", your spirits will be lifted. I particularly enjoyed Frank's takes on "Something's Gotta Give" and "Day In, Day Out" - simply thrilling! Special mention must also go Billy May's ... Read More:

This is an excellent update of the previously released "My Way: The Best pf Frank Sinatra": the record company have added a whole new CD! The single album was already terrific value for money, containing as it did Frank's best loved and most well known songs but the addition of the extra CD has made this an indispensable album for anyone wanting to add some Frank Sinatra to their CD collection - it just beats all the other competition clean out of sight!

I rarely listen to swing or jazz and have therefore never appreciated mainstream Sinatra. Typically of this musical genre, orchestrations rely heavily on improvisatory jazz harmonics, and the singing often resorts to mauling around the timing and intonation of melodic lines to achieve the signature vocal style. Of course these are the very qualities that many will find so appealing in Sinatra's better known music. This style remains evident in his early melancholy themed compilations with Nelson Riddle such as "In The Wee Small Hours" and "Only The Lonely", and these albums may be preferred by those who enjoy conventional Sinatra.
So why is this album different?
Gone is the 'Come Fly With Me' style. Instead there are lush, soaring string orchestrations (perhaps too schmaltzy ... Read More:

This certainly is classic Sinatra. Twenty of his best cuts from those Capitol years are here in this terriffically remastered CD, a Nice N' Easy feel being the overall theme. Some great ballads like "In the Wee Small Hours" and "One More for My Baby" are scattered throughout, but mainly this is a confident and swingin' Sinatra at the top of his game. This whole thing just leaves us feeling good, and a little in awe of Sinatra's greatness.
If you have a lot of Sinatra's stuff, as most people do, this is a nice addition, and if you really aren't familiar with what all the fuss was about, this is definitely the one to get. A good twentysomething friend of mine recently bought this after listening to me chide him because he didn't own any Sinatra, or really know much about popular music. ... Read More:
