Simply put, Oliver! is one of the greatest musicals of all time. It is filled with memorable songs - "Food Glorious Food", "Oliver!", "Consider Yourself" and "Oom-Pah-Pah" to name just a few - and equally memorable characters.

The film is a musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic novel and much like the story of Oliver Twist itself, it is a perfect family film. Mary Poppins

This CD is great but not top notch there are a few bits of music missing the interview with the music writers is a rare insight to what they do and what can happen.
Most of the songs are here but some aren't but it is still enjoyable CD and the interview is a nice extra there is another Mary Poppins CD out there which has every bit of music on it.

I love this cd; It remembers me my childhood and my teenager years!! I saw the movie at the cinema when I was 12 years old and I purchased it on vinyl; now, when I found it on the cd format, I bought it inmediately!! The songs are beautiful and in excellent condition, without scratch and in a very good restoration!! buy it!!

Annie Ost

Having watched a production of Annie with my pet mouse, I was pursuaded to buy the CD for him. He loves it! He's constantly listening to the album and has made himself a wig out of the wax that covers edam cheese. He's even started eating less cheese so that he can feel more like an orphan. My only worry is that he now has a love of dogs and being a mouse, this is potentially hazardous. This is why I have only awarded four stars, but if you asked him, he'd give it five . . . and a half if that was possible.

I have known this album since i was 4 years old. Had In on vinyl for a long time. Got all the pretend versions (kiritikanawa or what ever you call her, and all the others) This is the best. So to all the knockers. YOU HAV'NT GOT A CLUE. Or get a decent Hi Fi system. I thank you. Good delivery service from Amazon as usual.

Great wonderful music - you don't need me to tell you that. The excellent score from a much loved film, this contains some timeless moments. And given that a lot of money has clearly been spent updating the packaging and background detail, you'd be forgiven for thinking the producers would have taken the trouble to remaster the music. Not so. It is probably the worst recording I have ever paid money for - echoey, compressed and with very little bass. If you can imagine dangling a small television over one end of your bath while using an ear trumpet at the other end to record the sound onto an old computer cassette recorder, you get some idea of how bad this sounds. I have Condidence that nobody can call themselves a true affectionado of Sound of Music without this CD.
It contains the original 16 pieces from the film, beautifully sung by Maria, the Captain, the Children and the Chorus, plus eleven bonus tracks that make this CD even more of "something good", wiht exetended music, additional verses and esxtra soundtrack used on the film.
Rodger and Hammerstein outdo any other musical ever written herein, and this CD is worth every penny.

My Fair Lady - Original Soundtrack

Most musical recordings seem choppy mostly because they are, and are rendered from the stage play, so of course they wouldn't make that much sense. MY FAIR LADY holds up well and you don't get this sense. The entire ablum is a gem and there's not a sour note in it.
