Learn To Dance - Salsa [2006]

Very easy to follow these steps and I like the way the instructor encourages you to play around with the routine - and he explains that other dancers might break on different beats.

The interaction with the male & female - and the viewer is also very good, as is the quality of recording. The woman's dress is perfect, as it is easy to see her leg movements and the ruffles on the hips emphasise that movement.

By far the best of the three dance DVDs I ordered.

I don't have time to write reviews, but I am so impressed by this CD that it deserve the reveiw.

Almost every song on this CD drives you to the dance floor - absolute essential for every salsa dancer. Excellent value. Don't miss it, buy more than one to keep or to give to friends as a present. The best Salsa CD. Also buy volume 1.

Salsa Moderna Vol.1: a Taste of New Wave Latin Flavors

After hearing a lot about Salsa and wanting to actually hear some music I invested in this box set. At first I was bemused by the styles and rhythms which seemed to meld into one homogenous sound. However after awhile the diversity of the music began to come through and now I'm a convert to the style. This is essentially a set of CD's designed to make you get up and dance (or do something), which must represent excellent value. I certainly have appreciated the good time feel of the music which is enhanced by the way each CD seeks to replicate the increasing intensity of a night in a Salsa club.
As I say I'm no expert on this type of music but have really enjoyed listening to this compilation.

Simply Salsa

Have to disagree with the other reviewer, as this isn't actually that bad. There's 4 CDs of Salsa/Cuban/Latin music of slightly differing moods (Latin Cool, Late night Latin, Latin for Lovers and Salsa Dance Classics) and although it sounds a bit cheesy and some of the tracks are by the same artist (presumably as a commercial cover band) which does make you tend to avoid these CDs, actually they are quite good and each of the CDs are great to put on. Admittedly this wouldn't be a CD you'd recommend as your only entree into the world of Salsa and it's not going to cut the mustard in a London club, but it's great to stick on for an evening or Sunday afternoon just to put a bit of latin background to your house - and for that it does the job well. This is the worst Salsa instructional DVD I have ever seen and bought. I dance both Cuban and line style salsa but this DVD shows neither. The instructor just shuffles around with no technique or rythm. There are no demonstrations and no dance to salsa music. The instructor is completely worthless at salsa dance and he can't teach it.

The only people that can use this DVD is a couple that tries to learn together and will never dance with anybody else.
