MeatLoaf + Jim Steinman = a must have album!

I'm a huge fan of MeatLoaf and have been for nearly 10 years and hearng this album for the first time blew me away. "Bat 2" blasts along for well over an hour with pure rock genius. Jim Steinman's song writing really works well with MeatLoaf's style of singing.

It's a worthy following to "Bat 1" so-much-so that it won a grammy!

If you're a MeatLoaf fan you would be mad not have this in your collection. If you're not...you don't know what you've been missing all this time!!

this album rocks big style!! i have over-played the cd to near death. I recommed it to any loaf and steinman fans out there. owning all of his back catologue i can safely say this is one of the best and is worthy of the title 'bat out of hell 3'

Dead Ringer

You really can not claim to own Meatloaf's very best work until you have "Dead Ringer" in your collection.
This CD is a masterpiece in every sense of the word, a perfect hard rock album. My favorite songs on this album are the incrediable "Peel Out", "I'm Gonna Love Her For Both Of Us" and the classic "Read Em And Weep" but there isn't one track on here that I don't like, it's just too sensationial of an album not to like.
"Dead Ringer" is a disc of which you will play again and again so if don't own it then do yourself a favour and order it today, you will be doing yourself one big favour!

Welcome to the Neighbourhood

What can I say about this album, it's yet another masterpiece of Meatloaf, truely one of rock music's greatest ever male singers.
The first track, "Where The Rubber Meets The Road" sets the tone for the whole CD, a killer track for a killer album.
If you're a fan of Meatloaf, do not hesitate to buy "Welcome to the Neighbourhood" and add it to your collection for it's an important addition.

Midnight at the Lost and Found

I felt I have to write a review myself after having read many of the reviews here. I'll say straightaway that I absolutely love this album. Yeah sure, it's different from Dead Ringer and Bat Out Of Hell but I have great memories in connection with this album. I don't think that anyone who really likes Meat Loaf would be disappointed by Midnight At The Lost And Found. This album is way too underrated. Come on, go for it - especially for this price!

The Platinum Collection: Greatest Hits I, II & III

I have just got the box set recently, and have been enjoying it greatly. Not just that, my three daughters aged 9, 6 and 2 are great fans, and want to listen to it all the time in the car. And the two-year-old even says 'Rock' once she hears the first few bars of 'We will rock you'. Just goes on to show that Queen truly made ageless music, which still scores far above most contemporary music.

Bad Attitude

Meat Loaf's fourth album was released a year after its (for me) disappointing predecessor. This is better! A little brief at 39 minutes with no 'long' songs, it is written by Sarah Jacobs and Paul Durkee, except that two Steinman tracks are featured: 'Surf's Up' is certainly a high point of the album and was the first track that Meat recorded from Steinman's own 'Bad For Good' album. Meat would susequently record more tracks from 'Bad To Good' and make a much better job of them vocally than Steinman. On this album, Meat's voice in finally back on top form and he powerfully delivers some cracking rock tracks. For me, the last three songs do it. You'll also find the single 'Modern Girl'.

Bad for Good

I can't even begin to describe how great this album is! Jim isn't just a singer/songwriter...he's a poet and a genius!
Although Jim doesn't possess a rip-roaring voice like Meat Loaf's, he still manages to evoke that sense of epic, quasi-theatrical mayhem in 'Bad For Good' a hallmark common to his other major works:'Bat Out of Hell' 1 and 2.
Most of the songs on the album have also been recorded by Meat Loaf at some point in time, and its nice to here Jim's own unique take on the songs, particularly 'Out of the Frying Pan and Into the Fire' and 'Lost Boys and Golden Girls', which later featured in 'Bat Out of Hell II'.

Although the track listing on the Amazon website omits 'Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through', the copy that I recieved DID contain it, ... Read More:

Heaven and Hell

I truely love this CD, Meatloaf and Bonnie Tyler are two of my all time favorite singers, voices are incomparable to today's so called ''music''.
This set includes their greatest hits from the 80s plus a duet with Cher on Meatloaf's "Dead Ringer For Love". It is an album that you will play again and again, i have lots of Bonnie's albums but this is only CD i own so far with her cover of "Straight From The Heart", awesome stuff!!
If don't own this CD then be sure to order it today, it won't come a disappointment to you if you like these amazing artists.

Dark Side of the Moon

There is simply no topping this album when it comes to brilliant music making. Repeated listens over the years simply reveal more depths, which to me is the sign of wonderful, timeless music. The word classic is over-used, but for me, Dark Side of The Moon goes beyond being a piece of great rock music. It is simply great music. Taken as a complete work, you are unlikely to spend 42 minutes in better company, time and time again. I can think of no other recording that sounds so fresh every time I play it. Absolutely wonderful - and worthy of your attention.
