This album with all its vibrant colour and form, with James Mercer's wonderful voice and moments jumping from gentle to outright hedonistic and flagrant is so very different to Oh, Inverted World. Its openness, its lyrical content, and the wild and exciting turn it takes from their debut is enough to ensure repeated listens. Intelligent, thoughtful yet youthful and carefree at the same time this album is a bundle of good things and I would urge anyone who hasn't listened to take a moment to listen. This is their most exceptional release so far (and I consider their latest release into the calculation) and at least for moments as incomparable as Gone for Good, an acoustic piece written about waiting around then moving on- for good, it is such ... This is probably one of the best soundtracks to any film I've heard. It added perfectly to each moment in the film, but stands up in it's own right as a excellent collection of tracks. This is a great album to kick back to whilst reading, or chilling on lazy Sunday afternoons and if you loved the film, this album will not disappoint.

A fantastic album - worth the entry price for the first track alone. Everybody I've played "District" to is intrigued by it and most have gone on to buy the album. If you like "Give Up" (which I'm sure you will) try "Pixel Revolt" by John Vanderslice, particularly track 5: "Trance Manual".

This is a relaxing album, its refreshing to, it's music to think to, easy listening but thought provoking also. Each tune is really catchy, Imogen Heap has a great voice and Guy's tunes are very catchy. They work together to make something that ends up sounding very profound, you know the kind of thing, music for montages and firework displays, like at the end of movies where everything comes together, it has that sort of effect on hearing. In that respect it's a totally feel good album. Well worth buying

Coming across this album was a joy.Having read the postive reviews in music scribes,I decicded to give it a go.Man,it hits you like a sucker punch.Wheeled in by the opening piano chords to "Fake Empire" all the way through to the hymen-like "Gospel" this is an album of serious substance.Songs like "Brainy"a tale of stalker("You know I keep your fingerprints in a pink folder in the middle of my table") and "Apartment Story"("Oh we're so disarming darling, everything we did believe
is diving diving diving diving off the balcony") stand out. This band has succeeded in not only writing great sons, but achieving a groove to them that fits Joy Division in their peak. The relentless drum beats ,coupled with the drilling bass lines make these songs tight. There ... Read More:

Making a second album was never going to be an easy thing for Arcade Fire, Funeral was possibly the worst type of debut album a band could make being that it was absolutely amazing and possibly the best album of the last 20 years. The logical thing to do after making an album that good is to realise it's impossible for you to top it and just not even try...luckily this is not what Arcade Fire do. The band fully realise they can't ever make another Funeral, so instead of trying to make Funeral Part 2, the band instead decide to head in a different musical direction. The thing you've got to realise is that this album is not and will never be Funeral, you can't even really compare the two they're leagues apart and both are completely brilliant in different ways.

Wonderful and haunting. It sounds both contemporary, seventies and has more than a hint of old 19th century American folk music about it.
Release Date April 02, 2007
The only reason I bought this album was that I heard this was Johnny Marr's new band (and they were an act that I missed while at a music festival in Australia). I had never heard any of the band's material before. Being an Electronic fan, I was expecting if not the same style, then a fair amount of melodic guitar-based music. It was therefore quite a shock when I stuck the CD on and heard 'March into the sea', and while 'Dashboard' and 'Fire it up' were slightly more palatable, I had basically written the album off as a dud on first listening. But I persevered, and having become used to their unique style, I would say that this is one of the most satisfying, interesting albums that I have heard for a long time.
I am easily bored by some music, and I often fall ... Read More:

Death Cab for Cutie still amaze me, even today's bands fail to even compare to the careful hounest lyrics of Ben Gibbard.
This Album will blow you away from start to finish. My stand out track on this Album has to be "Your Heart is an Empty Room",belive me it'll tug at your emotions and make you think about your life.
