This is a brillent album i first bought it in the summer of 05 and i will never forget the first time i played it cause it was a heatwave and i was in my garden with my mate smoking a spliff and i just felt at one with the world, love it.
Just a beautiful album, stills makes me smile and lifts my spirits the same as it did nearly 30 years ago. An essential purchase for any serious music lover.
Release Date November 14, 2005
this was a big favourite of mine, growing up in the 80's and early 90's. this album is by far the best reggae collection of ub40's. i also bought the ub40 dvd which has a few others which do not feature on the collection. if you want relaxing, soul trippin music this summer, then i suggest this album. totally superb.
this is a must for anyone who not only likes ub40 but enjoyed the 80's and its music.

While it may shock the duller purists to realise that the Wailers themselves preferred to released the heavily overdubbed "British" mix of "Concrete Jungle" as a single on Tugg Gong in 1972, the fact remains that the rawer and more minimal mixes from Dynamic and Harry J are closer to the "classic" Wailers sound from the Wail'n'Soul'm and Lee Perry years than the Island remixes. As a historical document, some of the tracks are fascinating, as works in progress develop. Musically, being a unified group with a fixed bassist and drummer and having £4000 to spend in the studio permitted a degree of experimentation, and in this case it paid off handsomely.
If you've read this far, you'll know what songs are on the album, so I needn't say ... Read More:

The Wailers' second Island album is arguably slightly inferior to its predecessor, "Catch A Fire", in the song stakes - there is quite a lot of filler, which includes inferior remakes of earlier material such as Small Axe and Duppy Conqueror - although none of it is less than good, there are only three really great tracks here. But on the other hand, any album that contains the definitive versions of I Shot The Sheriff, Get Up Stand Up and Burnin' And Lootin' is totally essential. And the album lacks the overdubs from white session players found on "Catch A Fire" - it was all recorded (though not mixed) in Jamaica, and though superbly recorded is far rawer than its predecessor. And apart from all this, it's superbly remastered in this edition, with a bright, ... Read More:

I'd call this album a grower, definitely not one for someone new to reggae or just dabbling in reggae. It has a much more synth 80's style of playing than earlier roots albums by Bob. So if you're looking for rough roots rock or pop tinged reggae you may be disappointed. If you're a hardcore reggae or Bob fan you've probably got this already.
What I would say is the beauty in this album is in how it's crafted, these are some of Bob's most prophetic lyrics. Just listen to Zimbabwe it's as relevant a lyric today as it was when it was written.
I bought this album years ago when I was in my early 20's its only now as I carrier towards 30 that it has grown on me so perhaps its one for the more mature listener.

Personly this is my favourite Bob marley album there all good(exellent)but this is the best with classics like EXODUS/THREE LITTLE BIRDS/ONE LOVE/WAITING IN VAIN/JAMMING you tell me there not some of marleys best work?so this is a must, but if your a big fan like me you'll get them all.
Release Date June 25, 2001
Yet another brilliant live performance here from Bob Marley. This album contains live versions of many of the songs classified as 'clascics' by many people today. A superb album, not even a 5 star rating does this album justice. Well worth the money.
