This is Adam Sandler's most interesting film to date. It's a dark comedy with excellent acting from the entire cast. Its well written with subtle and dark humour, but judging by some of Adam Sandler's previous movies and by reading some of the reviews on Amazon; it appears that this film is too intelligent for the fans of Adam Sandler.

If your expecting the usual Adam Sandler movie, like the average Happy Gilmore, then you will be disapointed. However, if you like your comedy dark and subtle; then this is for you. This is a very acomplished film.

I just watched Reign Over Me. Brilliant movie.

Normally one would think it would not be something for me, because it's a "human drama" story. But it's a good one, it avoids the usual sentimental sand traps most of these movies are mired in.

And importantly, it has a lot of humor. It's subtle, of the kind people may not remember after, but it's there all the time. One small example: a therapist, played by lovely Liv Tyler, is told by a defensive patient that what he thinks about are her perfect tits. And next session she is wearing the bulkiest sweater you ever saw... and it's not even mentioned! That's excellent.

...this happens. Sort of.
There isn't much of a plot, but when you see Satan's youngest kid doing some Guitar Hero stuff in his bedroom, you know it has to be plain funny.
The repeat gag of Nicky getting killed by accident - generally his own mistakes - works very nicely, and even better when he accidentally lands in Heaven and discovers his air-head mum and her best mates, who are angels.
Beefy could have been done a little better, and just looks like a cheap copy of Frank the Pug from Men in Black.
Devilishly funny though, and loved the Ozzy cameo!

I am sorry but if you dont enjoy this film you must have had a sense of humour bypass operation when you were younger. The cast is great, the story superb and the music excellent. A film you will keep coming back to when you need to put a smile on your face!!

90 minutes of my life which I cant ever get back. I was recommended this film by my brother who claimed it was, "dead funny." Im beginning to think that one of us was adopted. Put quite simply, one of the worst films I've ever seen, I've noticed that you can get a used copy for as little as a penny, don't bother even that would be a waste of money.

With its faults, the film works just fine if one remembers that the story is seen through the eyes/memories of a child. Adam Sandler is finally doing something different; you don't actually have a headache after five minutes from all the "noise and hopping about" - Just like Robin Williams who has turned into a fine-tuned actor. Let's hope he continues.

I watched this on sky once and i actually had to go to hospital (NO JOKE!!) from laughing to much i nearly choked. So i bought it and played it to my friends at a sleep over. We were in stitches and we laughed that much we woke my parents up the best bit though is the bit where billy madison (sandler) falls onto his front porch LOL!!

But yeah if you like the films where sandler is PURE STUPIDITY!! then this is the film for you. You will want to put it on constant play.

I absolutely love Sandler and Nickolson but when they work together they make a fantastic double act!
I have never laughed so much in my life as I did during some of the scenes in this film. It is very well written with some hysterical moments of pure comedy.
I recommend this to any Sandler fan, it is an enjoyable watch wit some witty characters.

Adam Sandler - The Best Of Saturday Night Live

I think you have to be a fan of Saturday Night Live to enjoy this kind of humour.
Personally I loved this DVD, highlights being Operaman, Zagats, Canteen Boy and The Gap Girls. Sandler also get to show off his talent on the guitar and at singing with skits like the Hanukkah song. Plus great guest appearances by other SNL alumni like David Spade, Chris Farley and Rob Scheider and an appearance by Alec Baldwin.
I love this DVD!!!
