This review is for the original electronic release, not the rock version.
I remember when this album came out back in 2001, I wasn't feeling The Neptunes at the time. I was mostly into underground hip-hop so listening to this type of stuff was considered kinda poppish. But as the years passed by, my listening taste has grown and I decided to give The Neptunes a true listen because the music nowadays have no creativity whatsoever. So stuff that I didn't like back then has now become gold. This is the masterpiece I missed out on. Upon hearing the massive hits Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo have created for music superstars Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and others, you become drowned in their own flavor of music production, ... I loved NERD after getting into "Lapdance" from "In Search of..", buying the album out of curiosity and finding a hard core, funky rocky hip hop album straight out of left field. I was looking forward to more of the same on "Fly or Die" but was really disappointed by the album, which failed to deliver any great songs or even grooves outside of the hit single "She Wants To Move".
I was ready to give up on NERD after that until I saw them a few weeks ago playing live in London and was blown away by what a great live act they were. I decided to give "Fly.." another listen and buy "Seeing Sounds" after hearing some new songs that I did not recognise at the gig. On review, "Fly.." disappointed again and I was worried that "Seeing Sounds" might ... Read More:

`In My Mind' is not a bad album at all. I'm also a fan of The Neptunes work and N.E.R.D. songs and was anxiously awaiting for this album. I know there are a lot of people (even dedicated fans) who are sort of hating on this album and the have there reasons to due to their high expectation or later on founding out that Pharrell's solo skills wasn't as strong as they hope for. Pharrell does make an attempt to make every song sound different, which I appreciate, it's as if he takes on a different persona for each track. Once you hear it at first you'll be like WTF but then once you give it a second or third try you start to get a feel for this album.
I notice that a great deal of musical artist has gotten into the 80's vibe from the past few years. ... Read More:

Wow! this album is great! I just love Pharrell and Chads talent of perfoming and writing. This album brings a lot of different types of music together and it is a bril mix! My favourite tracks on this album are Frontin' preformed by the one only Pharrell Williams and Jay-Z - this song is smooth! I also like Good girl because it basically is just a good song and my third fav track just has to be looser by Pharrell and Chads band - N.E.R.D. I just love their songs, its hard to explain why probably because the lyrics and music is just the best. But if your an N.E.R.D fan U'll know what I mean. I recommend this album for any Pharrell, N.E.R.D, Hip-hop and R&B fan! Enjoy!

Well I bought this album about a year ago. I was in the Trafford Centre in topshop with my girlfriend and this amazing song was on the screen. I waited till it finished to see who it was by. N*E*R*D - Provider. I then went next door and bought it. The next day I skipped uni and I must have listened to the album non-stop for about 5 hours. I couldn't believe how good it was. I am in no way into rap or urban music, but this album is something a whole lot different. I'm into The Strokes and Oasis type stuff, but I think anyone could enjoy this album. "Lapdance" is addictive from the first beat. You cannot resist your temptation to start bobbing your head. "Things are getting better" is probably the second best song on there. Pharrell's voice is in excellent ... Read More:

it's ridiculous how much this album is slated. People seem unable to appreciate OutKast without comparing this to their old work. The fact is that they managed to combine hiphop with a range of musical styles AND IT WORKS. There's no need to give examples, cos cases can be made for all the songs. Admittedly there are songs which seem to be dwarfed by the rest, but that just shows the strength of the other songs.
people say they gave this album one listen and couldn't do it again. their loss. Speakerboxxx/Love Below takes a few listens to fully appreciate, but once you do, you won't regret it

This album has rightly been lauded by just about everyone. It's an incredibly clever and interesting piece of work. The tracks are varied in their feel and attitude, from "thuggish" to thoughtful and reflective. If anything the problem is that West is trying too hard to be all things to all people. He's a thoughtful, reflective soul who believes in Jesus and disapproves of drug use (in principle) but who is also happy to hand out beat-downs, steal and deal drugs (or to do whatever he has to "to get by"). Most rappers are guilty of trying to take the moral high ground while also maintaining their street cred by acting like delinquents, but with many rappers (e.g. Tupac) this seems to be a genuine contradiction (or perhaps a paradox if you want to be really flattering). Sorry for this short and lazy review - which is no reflection of my feelings for this album. Oracular Spectacular is superb, MGMT is superb. And going for a bargain price at the time of writing too!
Release Date May 12, 2008
Let me start by saying that I have never been a fan of any form of dance music: in any way whatsoever!
I saw these guys perform Granite live on Jools Holland, and they blew me away though. I genuinely believed them to be a guitar driven rock band: so to discover that they are D&B is quite a suprise.
That said, I bought this album to find out how good their other stuff was, and it did not disappoint! Thunderous guitar riffs fused with heavy electronica, and synth fed voices create a wall of sound against a backdrop of Metallica style drums.
I invested in their first album "Hold Your Colour" too: and even though this is very much a D&B album, you can clearly discern the direction that their music is going in.
Stand out tracks for me on "In Silico" are:- Granite,Midnight ... Read More:
