I bought my Mother this for Christmas and I have to say it makes great viewing! Its full of traditional Christmas tunes from around the world and beautifully presented.

I didn't think it was my thing but I sat and watched it from start to finish. It has a few comical moments, a few sad ones but mostly a wonderful extravaganza of beautiful music!

The superb musicianship of Rieu (who now plays a 1732 Stradivarius), along with his unique and terrific Johann Strauss Orchestra and Chorus, always keep a light heart and a touch of humor while they perform pop and classical favorites. As entertaining as London and Dublin concerts. English subtitles if you want them. Concert in a football stadium with a few Andre twists but the music is of the same high standard. Includes the intro of a 3 year old violinist!!! Well worth your time to watch. Get the Maastricht and Schonbrunn dvd's and you have a great Xmas lined up.

Andre Rieu: The Homecoming

This has to be one of the best DVD's that I have ever bought. It is a treat for your eyes and ears. The music, singing, sets and costumes are brilliant. The orchestra and the audience really seem to enjoy themselves.
I highly reccomend this DVD, BUY IT.

Pity that this is exactly the same as another DVD of Andre Rieu's library and was extremely disappointed to find this out. There is too much duplication of some items and I think that this should be pointed out especially where there is a language difference of the issue.

It is definitely going into my collection!!
