Fabulous! I've not heard much of her lately but then I played the CD,s. I cannot think of a bad track. I find that I keep repeat playing most of the tracks I find it hard to move on. What is apparent throughout is the great playing from the band. Its great value and one that is being exclusively played in my car.

I was still quite young when the disco craze hit the world, certainly way too young to enjoy what was going on in nightclubs, not too young to enjoy the music though!
My favourites at the time were undoubtedly this band. I recall dancing to all the hits at school disco's and once at a very magical evening trip to a local ice rink disco, with the youth club. But as well as stirring memories of the the late 70's and early 80's revisiting these tracks creates thoughts of just how stylisticly variable, vocally accomplished and downright excellent this band was! Gladys Knight and the Pips made some records before they signed to Motown, but those records were not successful, so these are the earliest important recordings.

I heard it through the grapevine was their first major hit, going to number two in the American pop chart (and topping the R+B chart) and also giving them a minor British hit. Gladys recorded the song at around the same time as Marvin Gaye, but Motown originally selected the version by Gladys and the Pips for single release. That voice is from a place none of us will ever get to. Angels blessed Aretha's vocal chords and went back and blessed them again. This album has so many unbelievable classic songs. Aretha is one of my heroes. If I could sing like her for the day it would be a dream.

The Best Of The Stylistics

Ive been a steward at the North Wales Theatre at Llandudno for over five years and have seen the Stylistics on four occasions and they are still one of the most professional and harmonious soul coloured groups in the business.
I have also met them in person and was very impressed with their willingness to sign their cds this one included and pose for photographs and also have a chat with admiring fans.Some people ive met not saying any names are the direct opposite of their stage personality but the Stylistics are really pleasant guys.

Their music on the other hand is superb with gorgeous harmonies not dissimilar to the BeeGees but very Motown Soul.

Tavares - The Greatest Hits

A great collection of timeless evergreen classics, from the days when singers relied on singing ability and not studio technology to sound good!

I love all the tracks on here, but was really disappointed to find that what is arguably Tavares best known song, "Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel" is not included. Well at least the original isn't included, what is offered in its place is perhaps one of the most dreadful, tacky 80's re-mixes I have heard. It sounded like Stock, Aitken and Waterman's collective mothers had been let loose in the studio!!!

I would love to know who makes the decision to include this kind of garbage on an otherwise great collection. Re-mixes are usually added to albums as bonus tracks, not replacements for the ... Read More:

I brought this album for one purpose and one purpose only 'Let's Stay Together'
I didn't know who sang it because I was an 80's baby raised in the 90's it was before my time, but eventually found out that Al did.
After owning this album 2 months now I have been gripped by Al's presents on the mic, I now have 15 favorite songs on the album, they don't call it greatest hits for nothing!!
I feel so strongly about this album because when ever I hear it, it just makes me feel good, I literally have a smile on my face throughout the album!!
I have an ultimate favorite, but it was hard to pick with great songs like 'Simply Beautiful' 'Sha La La' 'Tired of Being Alone' and 'How Can You Mend a Broken Heart' getting in the way, but 'L.O.V.E.' is just ... Read More:
