Disney's Greatest Hits

How do Disney do it. They seem to have that magic touch with everything they do and this album is no exception. Although my son is only quite young he still loves this album every time I put it on and I have to admit that so do I.

If you have seen any of the films (which I imagine is most of you) then you have to get this album. Time and time again you will be whisked away back to the wonderful world of Disney films and animation. Okay I am rambling but it is a very good album. 5 stars!!!

The Lion King [Special Edition]

This is certainly the most amazing soundtrack that Disney has produced, proven by the fact that it has won awards for its brilliance. The music is absolutely mind-blowing, and there is something there to touch every emotion, from the dramatic "Circle of Life," to the beautiful heart-wrenching "Can You Feel The Love Tonight," the fun, bouncy "I Just Can't Wait to be King" and "Hakuna Matata," and of course there's no forgetting the dark "Be Prepared." There is, of course, the wacky "Morning Report" which, despite being very good in its own right, does not match up to the others, it being an additional song for the Special Addition. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Great wonderful music - you don't need me to tell you that. The excellent score from a much loved film, this contains some timeless moments. And given that a lot of money has clearly been spent updating the packaging and background detail, you'd be forgiven for thinking the producers would have taken the trouble to remaster the music. Not so. It is probably the worst recording I have ever paid money for - echoey, compressed and with very little bass. If you can imagine dangling a small television over one end of your bath while using an ear trumpet at the other end to record the sound onto an old computer cassette recorder, you get some idea of how bad this sounds. I love this cd; It remembers me my childhood and my teenager years!! I saw the movie at the cinema when I was 12 years old and I purchased it on vinyl; now, when I found it on the cd format, I bought it inmediately!! The songs are beautiful and in excellent condition, without scratch and in a very good restoration!! buy it!!

Oliver!: Original Film Soundtrack [SOUNDTRACK]

Okay, this is a bit churlish, because it deserves a 5, but there are huge cuts from Oom Pah Pah, I think 2 verses missing - for political correctness? Not for space/length reasons as there are 200 dance choruses of Who Will Buy and Consider Yourself. I like the Shani Wallis songs the best, so to have big chunks taken out of one of her best songs is a real spoiler.

Elsewhere, the mixing is a little off. When you listen to Fine Life, it's like one giant unknown cockney is standing 2 inches away from your ear bellowing 'FINE LIFE!' during the choruses.

Lullaby: a Beautiful and Soothing Collection of Night Time Songs for Children and Grown Ups

This is a wonderful CD for babies - and parents ! Doctors should prescribe this to soothe babies to sleep.
After trying many different techniques to get our 11 month old daughter to sleep ( I am not a fan of letting babies "cry it out" ! ) my friend suggested playing some relaxing music. After reading the reviews on Amazon we decided to try this CD.
We have used it religiously every night for 3 weeks and every night our daughter has settled into her cot and lay and listened to the music until she falls asleep. We then have the delight of listening to the rest of the CD on the baby monitor.
We now play it on random as our daughter is asleep by the 5th or 6th song and it seems a shame she misses out on the rest of the CD ! I only wish we had known ... Read More:

Oxbridge Baby - Nursery Rhymes

Bought this CD after reading the positive reviews and I'm really glad I did. Our 2-year-old girl loves it and despite playing it over and over again we haven't got fed up with it, which is praise indeed!
Disagree with the reviewer who didn't like the male vocalist's voice. I think it's a pleasant change to hear an English accent with perfect diction.

Great opening track which gets our daughter dancing and our feet tapping immediately!
