I bought the book for a present after reading all the great reviews. Found the story rather strange. And the ending that the woman dies is odd. Maybe that's English humour I don't get. The graphics are lovely though. I bought the hardbook and there was no CD, maybe hearing the song helps to enjoy the story more.

Potty Training In One Week

I made the mistake of buying this book. As with other Gina Ford books if your child doesn't conform to her regime you feel inadequate and disappointed. She advises on day one (after they have proved they can do wee and poos on potty) to confine toddler in one room all day and repeatedly put them on the potty!! No way! I think I lasted half an hour and I got cabin fever. I found "No-cry Potty Training Solution: Gentle Ways to Help Your Child Say Good-bye to Diapers" by Elizabeth Pantley far more helpful and reassuring. Gina Ford does make things seem so easy, but she isn't training her own child and the whole thing can get emotional. The Contented Toddler Years

Just as all other Gina books this one follows on fantastically from the Contented Baby book. Just as you start to worry about the toddler years here is the book with all the answers to keep you calm and confident. Very helpful book that Im constantly referring to for different stages of my sons development, filled with loads of advise and tips. My son is a happy confident toddler with a happy contented family around him, what more could you ask for!

Braun Ear Thermometer Lens Filters LF40

These lens are indeed great for taking temperature... but at a price! Amazon price may be the cheaper, it still a lot if your baby is sick and you have to monitor the temperature every other hour, having to replace the filter every time.

For me, these filters do the job very well, but remember to pile up plenty. Otherwise you'll have to throw the thermometer the day they stop selling the filters!
I still use the old "traditional" thermometer from time to time, partly for this reason.
No problem with the filter, only wish they would come in packs of 200 for that price!

Braun 4520 Thermoscan Ear Thermometer

I purchased this for use with our baby daughter, who is currently in hospital. It consistently reads low. It tells me that she is below the ranges given in the instructions for her age and the reading location, giving me no confidence it it. It reads 35deg when the hospital thermometers I used to check it tell me she is 37. Two degrees difference is a huge amount on a £40 device and makes me not trust it at all. I plan to return mine.

I bought this book for my son's first solid food and I wasn't dissapointed. Although you probably don't need a recipe to make an apple pure, once you're past the first stage, it's getting more interesting. I cooked my son many meals from that book and served them (not mashed) to his Daddy too - they both loved them! Gives you ideas how to combine flavours and you can get surprised.

Presentation is nice and although I owe some other cook books for children - this one is by far my favourite one.

VTech First Steps Baby Walker

I bought this for my (then) 12-month old niece, thinking that she would be too young to use it. Not at all! She was absolutely hooked, could not get enough and was walking before many of the kids older than her. My sister-in-law told me that lots of her little friends at Nursery were suddenly bought the same V-Tech Walker when they saw my niece walking!

My niece is now nearly 3 and yet she still loves her walker - she uses it to pretend that it's a pram and she dances around to the music.
