Hearts on Fire and No easy way out combine with the training montage music herein to make this a very favourable experience. The songs are perfectly attuned to the pictures they accompany; luridly colourful, punchy,muscular...bombastic is a good word, sneezy and grumpy. The vocals by Robert Tepper and John Cafferty im sure were very much felt and meant at the time of the recording,and that comes across. Some of the lunatic speed keyboard intermissions are humourous to the point of being profound, these songs have gravitas and are bursting with a very intense and desperate machismo somewhat lost with the passing of the eighties.
The smoochy songs on this disc are really rubbish.

THIS IS JUST AMAZING. Rocky is such a legend and sylvester stallone plays Rocky so superbly. The first film is the best because thats just life changing, but rocky 2 has the best scene where he is climbing the philadelphia museum steps with thousands of people behind him, Rocky 3 is a great film, Rocky 4 is a bit better than rocky 3 and rocky 5 is another hit. If you want your slice of rocky then go buy this because its in a different class to other films. Sit back grab the popcorn and watch rocky, its life-changing.

I just finished watching the Rocky cycle, all 6! I must say it was excellent watching the whole series. I remember being disappointed by number five especially but it was better than I remembered, especially knowing how it was "top and tailed" by number 6. If you are a woman or male-child (physically or mentally) you may just want to watch I and VI but definitely watch VI again with the commentary by Sylvester Stallone so you can get the depth behind this life lesson.

If you already own the Anthology box set there is little incentive to buy this new collection, simply because it differs very little from the previous box set. The most obvious addition is the latest film, Rocky Balboa. This film is a definite finale for the franchise, so rest assured you won't buy this box set only to find out Rocky 7 is on the way. The only other difference is with the original Rocky film, as this collection includes the "Definitive Edition" - a 2 disc set packed full of extras, that can also be bought separately.

This is utterley, utterley dreadful.

If you love the movie, or (like me) love the MUSIC in the movie - STAY AWAY FROM THIS ALBUM!!!!

Crime number 1) Two tracks are lifted DIRECTLY from soundtracks to the first two movies i.e. Gonna Fly Now (from Rocky), and Conquest (from Rocky II).

Crime number 2) Two tracks are the same song recorded in two different ways. Which actuallly wouldn't be quite so bad, if the song hadn't also featured (in a far, far better version) on - yep, you guessed it - the "Rocky" soundtrack!!!!

Crime number 3) "Pushin'". It's pants.

Crime number 4) The album is criminally short (31'49")

Crime number 5) No Liner notes whatsoever (unless you count the "Track Listing"

Classic soundtrack. This album has everything. Kenny Loggins establishes himself as the master of powerful, catchy 80s cheese with the immense Danger Zone and fun-as-you-like Playing With The Boys. Berlin's Take My Breath Away is possibly THE greatest ballad of all time. Harold Faltermeyer's Top Gun Anthem is about as moving a piece of music can be. A must have.

buy this god damn cd now!!!! Don't think about it just do it. The Rocky Story cd (above) is great but this is far superior. the heart pounding soundtrack to the final clash between Rocky and Apollo, the amazing training montage score, and of course the "ADRIAAAN" overture at the end. I pity the fool that don't buy 'dis cd! Buy it, listen to it, then try to work out whilst listening to it. It's that good, I promise you
