I cannot think of a more boring & uninteresting collection of songs that would have a larger snooze factor than this one.
Release Date November 06, 2006
It is clear from reading other reviews on Amazon and elsewhere that people have mixed feelings about this collection. Some would have an album of entirely new recordings (and maybe more original songs and fewer covers) while others would have preferred an album comprising entirely re-issues. Perhaps it was decided that this compromise would suit everybody. Certainly, I'd been expecting a compilation of Cliff's duet hits ever since the release of his 6-CD boxed set (Singles collection), which contained every British solo single that Cliff had recorded up to that point, but noticeably avoided all the duets. In my review of that collection, I pointed out that there were enough of those duets to occupy a seventh CD. I was therefore a little disappointed ... Read More:

I've never been a Cliff fan since he started out around '57. In
Europe you were either a Cliff fan or an Elvis fan. You "had" to
choose between the two. This doesn't mean I din't like his hits,
I certainly did, because you heard them all day long on the radio
and at least in Western Europe they both fought for the # 1 position.
But OK that's history.
What I really admire about Cliff is on how he keeps on singing and
dancing in spite of his age. I already was astonished after watching
his "Castles In The Air Concert" but on this one he still keeps on
rockin' as if he were back in his early 60's concerts. Another
incredible fact is the length of his shows. This guy never stops
and although ... Read More:

It's hard to believe that this CD from Britain's most popular single artist in history has not been released in the US. Utterly ridiculous. This is a double A sided CD. The first song, 21st Century Christmas is a catchy pop tune that really grows on you. The music perfectly reflects the message of the song in such a way that few pop tunes do. The second song, Move It, is a remake of Cliff's 1958 hit which went to number 2 in Great Britain (so did this version). (Cliff is the only artist to hit number 1 with two different versions of the same song and number 2 with two different versions of the same song!). Providing the guitar licks is none other than Queen's own Brian May. What a great song! Can a 66 year old still rock and roll? You better believe it!! ... Read More:

Decided to buy the CD of "Small Corners" as only had on vinyl, so hadn't listened to it in ages. It is still one of the best gospel albums Cliff has produced and what a variety too! "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross" is, in my opinion, one of the best versions of this hymn. At such a low price, too, well worth buying.

Although I would prefer Cliff to record an album of new material, (2004's "Something's Goin On" is the best cd I own) and am still hoping for, dreaming of this every day, this version of Leo Sayer's classic is magnificent, masterful and beautiful. Cliff (wisely) sticks to the arrangement of the original but adds some distinctive touches of his own. Cliff's vocals have the vitality of youth and the high notes are luscious and caressing. I've listened to it again and again and again. I love it.

I remember this recording from the 70s and hearing it still makes me smile and happy. It's uplifting and bright, and catchy tunes. It isn't Cliff's greatest album, but it has a simplicity that lasts.

I had this album on vinyl many many years ago and it was a big favourite of mine. Its brilliant to now have it on CD. It's as good if not better than I remembered - with Cliff in fine voice both singing and chatting.
He does a lovely medley of Something Good and If ever I should leave you and great performances of The Lady Came from Baltimore and When Im 64!
The live versions of All My Love and Girl You'll Be a Woman soon are excellent and two stirring renditions of Aint Nothin but a House Party and La la la la la - make this album great all round.
The four bonus tracks are nothing special - but the original album is first class!

Actually, I've always liked this album. I enjoy the mix of tracks: some Shadows instrumentals, some Shadows vocals, and, of course, some Cliff vocal work. The best Cliff tracks are "Don't Forget to Catch Me" which is rather syrupy and predictable but pleasant none-the-less and "What's Behind the Eyes of Mary" which is simply a pleasing, melodic number. Those must be Hank's rather rough vocals on "The Average Life of a Daily Man," a song I like for its upbeat character, and the other Shadows vocal I could keep listening to is "Here I Go Again Loving You." As for the instrumentals, I find I keep coming back to the toe-tapping "Banana Man" while I really appreciate the smooth "Maggie's Samba."
This album, released in 1968 to celebrate the ten-year anniversary ... Read More:
