Im 13 years old and im usually into rockish type music but after hearing one Nouvelle Vague song i fell in love with them. I heard the cover of "Ever fall in love" (first sung by the buzzcocks) on tv and i thought it was great so i decided to buy their newest album. The re sings are amazing and the easy flowing mood is great when your trying to relax. I think that anybody could enjoy this album and the great voice of the Nouvelle Vague singers. The instuments are played fantastically and ever though i paid more on the high street than i could have on amazon i feel that it was well worth my money. I was lucky enough to discover this album as part of the in-flight entertainment on a night flight from New York to London. I can't sleep on flights at the best of times, so this was a gift from God that night. While slowly drifting in and out of a half slumber I discovered Jeff Alexander's "Come Wander With Me" an otherworldly and beautiful piece of music from an old Twilight Zone I later discovered, unbelievable. I was re-introduced to "Ghosts" by Japan, which I've always loved, but this was the perfect setting for David Sylvian's ether like vocals. There is never a wrong time to hear Minnie Ripperton's "Loving You", always tragic and eternally moving. Late Night Tales

Similar to previous review, I wasn't sure on first listen, a bit disappointed it wasn't a typical Fatboy house mix. But I gave it another chance and there are mainly cracking tunes on there which really grow on you.

I've now been playing this CD every other day for a few weeks and seem to enjoy it more each time.

I would recommend anyone to buy this - it will open you to some great tunes you've never heard before.

The idea of taking a bunch of new wave eighties classics, spraying them with French pheramones and adding some Astrid Gilberto Bossa Nova, may not appeal to everyone's taste. But nouvelle vague's original interpretations of these songs are so cheeky, irreverent and irresistable, I defy anyone not to instantly fall in love with them.
They have created the perfect chill out party album.
My favourite tracks are Sister of Mercy's 'MARIAN' and Tuxedomoon's 'IN A MANNER OF SPEAKING'. I'd not heard the original of this song, but this astonishing version is just beauty incarnate.

Spacey electro and disco conneisseur Lindstrøm shows his more quiet side with a downtempo, ecclectic vocal showing through the decades. He brings together some obscure vocalists, both old and new, along with a some familiar chords, such as Carly Simon, Dusty Springfield, and Sly and the Family Stone. There are a few spots in the mix where the tempo picks up, but it's mostly about subtle musical twists in genre, and drawn out, soulful turns on the mic. I like the fact there's almost an equal share between male and female vocals. There's also an excellent spoken word track by recent newcomer, Farah, which fits deep into the mix perfectly, with it's lush, building italo disco soundscape backing her. GA deliver again with an eclectic mix of soul, house and indie-tronika. loved it. Have one huge gripe, which will grate on me every time I listen to this mix - not only have GA mislabeled Electronic's 'Free Will' as 'Get the Message' but they also missed the most beautiful part of this nugget of a track, how could they not put Johnny Marr's absolutely gorgeous guitar solo in? A travesty. That aside a fine mix from GA, who just seem to go from strength to strength

This is a very groovy and smoothly mixed, retro dance entry in the Back to Mine series, and in my opinion, one of the best I've heard yet. The tracks in this mix range from 1973 to 1985. They touch on late 70's disco and funk, and early to mid 80's italo disco.

Interest in italo disco has peaked lately, with this Röyksopp mix, another retro mix called Hellboys, and a handful of new artists such as those featured on After Dark, who are creating new sounds molded from the past. Röyksopp has definitely touched all their Italo Disco bases, by including some of the most popular tracks of this early to mid 80's European genre: Mr. Flagio's Take A Chance, Valerie Dore's Get Closer, and Klein and M.B.O.'s Dirty Talk.

Pocket Symphony

It seems that every alternate AIR album is a good one. Talkie Walkie was a lovely album but Pocket Symphony leaves me cold. There are perhaps around three tracks on this that are good - Once Upon a Time, Photograph and Night Sight are standouts, but the collaborations are pretty dire with Jarvis Cocker's Party getting my vote for weakest effort on this album.

My advice would be to save your money on this one and go out and buy Charlotte Gainsbourg's 5:55 album, which was written and produced by AIR, and is more of a melodical AIR effort than this patchy piece of work.

Seventh Tree

I've left reviewing this for nine months and literally hundreds of listens. I don't believe that there's ever been another album I've played so often. And there's no sign of my growing tired of it. On the basis of a huge number of plays, I feel qualified to say that this is a truly wonderful album without a single weak track.

After seeing Goldfrapp on two consecutive nights (at Brixton) in November 2008, I couldn't bear to listen to anything other than Goldfrapp. Naturally, I gave their previous three albums fresh listens, as well as Seventh Tree.
