This late 2007 album is another to add to the collection for Russell Watson fans. Its a little strange to grasp but the mix of classical and pop is sometimes a good one and Russell is the "Daddy" of crossover the Voice as he is also known as because he has power and range beyond most singers classical or pop that are round at the moment.
There has always been a debate over is classical best for the Voice? as he sings and entertains in his music and the passion and power shows what ever he sings! So its good to hear what else this versatile voice can do!What ever you may think of his success it is undeniable he has talent ,I am sorry but sour grapes just does not cut it with me his success is a reflection of his talent and voic.Come on ! ... Russell Watson is not an opera singer but a pop singer who for some reason has made a little talent go a long way and has been quite successful here in the in the uk, due to serval TV shows. If you want to listen to a real tenor try Domingo or good old Pavarotti now these men can sing and have been in many opera's.

Hayley Westenra, what a fantastic voice. But she sould be singing classical tracks, instead of corny old numbers like Danny Boy.
Not a good cd at all, very sad.

Reading Buble reviews are a paradox in that die hard fans rave about him (and get `useful review' votes from other die hard fans) while other more critical reviews get slammed. How about an attempt at objectivity?
Buble is a wonderful vocalist, but there honestly is no musical originality here. If you are seeking music for a dash of innovation or emotion - or anything I can think of really - Buble really cannot deliver it. It is the culinary equivalent of an excellent drink of water - perfect every way, but without any describable qualities. I last heard this playing in an airport lounge - and that really says it all. This is perfectly acceptable background music which you will probably hear in US convention centers or in Blackpool at a middle aged ... Read More:

This album should not be dismissed as 'rubbish' I don't have any problem with classically trained singers recording and performing the songs on this album. However I do think that one of the preceding negative reviews raises a good point. That is whether a classically trained soprano has the right voice and technique to deliver these songs well. Although I have a fairly large collection of operas I don't see the 'opera singer' as in anyway superior vocally to a pop singer - it's a matter of taste and depending on my mood I can prefer Status Quo to the LSO.
Lesley Garrett has to change her vocal style to deliver this album and mostly she manages to make a good fist of it. The title track is well delivered and so to are most of the others. ... Read More:

For months I had been waiting for some new kind of music to place on my ipod and I became bored of most mainstream chart music.
Blake is a breath of fresh air. Okay, so it is a bit operatic, but they are far better than Il Divo. My own personal favourites is their version of "Take My Breath Away", "Gladiator" and "Vide Cor Meum" (which is from the movie Hannibal). The songs that are sung in Italian are a treat, especially if you like to romance things up with your missus... I would say this is a great CD for Christmas as well.

What a fantatic voice and album. Favourite tracks are Smile and What A Wonderful World.
I brought tickets for my Mum and I to go and see him at the Brighton Centre on 21st October just after she was diagnosed with cancer in May and this was one of her aims to get to see him, but sadly she died on the 16th July. I wasn't going to go but did so for Mum and I am so glad I did, he was very funny and talked alot to us all and as well as doing songs from the Ray Quinn album he did a fantastic Elvis Presley medley and what got me is Mum's favourite song is Michael Buble's Home which is going to be Westlife's new single and Ray sang a fantastic version of it. He said it was going to be on his album but was not so hopefully on his next album he will have this ... Read More:

I'm surprised by the number of reviewers who criticise Katherine because she has not performed in opera and then compare her unfavourably with leading opera singers. Nowhere on this CD (or any of her CDs and DVDs) is she described as an opera singer and her recordings do not claim to be opera. Her recordings do include some arias from opera (though not here) and these are sung very well, but she also includes Welsh songs,(again sadly none on this disc), hyms, songs from musicals and other works. This variety increases that buyers might not like every track. I bought this CD because it contains 'Samcta Maria' set to the music of the Intermezzo from Mascagmi's Cacalleria Rusticana' 'Be Still My Soul' the hymn set to the main theme from Finlandia by Sibelius and 'Somewhere' ... I'm sure anything I say will not dim the future career of Miss Ross, but this album is not worth your money or your attention. Many of the songs are tired and over-done. A friend of mine insisted I listened to it - so I did - but it was a lame effort to shove together a cd as quick as possible. Andrea's voice is certainly mature and clear, and she is a beautiful young woman but she fails to convey emotion and direction in her songs. With the exception of 'White Horses', she lacks energy - as if she was as bored as I was. I'm afraid Webber may have made a mistake with this one, but I won't write her off completely yet because she is still just a kid. I predict she'll become huge (like Sarah Brightman), but please, no more albums like this one!
