This film to me is my second favourite Disney after Beauty and the Beast. Why they don't carry on doing cartoon animation is beyond me since I'd rather watch this 10, 000 times over than ever look at Cars EVER again. Amazing film! you HAVE to watch it!
Release Date December 15, 2003
This film and soundtrack are a feast upon the senses. Visually the film is fantastic, while at the same time you continually find yourself closing your eyes in order to allow your ears to capture all that is happening around you. The soundtrack, in my eyes, has been given the biggest compliment any childrens film's soundtrack can be given, Disney use the soundtrack's main theme in their advertising campaign. If that doesnt give it credentials, then nothing does!!!

The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a 5 star album displaying once again Menken's talents. The music can be enjoyed by child fans of the movie and adult music lovers, although I feel some messages in the songs are too heavy for young children. The music has a catholic choral style (as some is in latin) as well as a gypsy bohemian theme contrasting. 'Hell fire' is a passionate song of lust with a heavy theme on the morals surrounding gypsys, witchcraft, church and the law. But the right message is sent out in the ballad 'God help the outcasts'. The music brilliantly describes the time and feel of Victor Hugo's epic novel with a touch of comedy in the talking gargoyles. This c.d is fabulous!

Many films release tie-in soundtracks, its nothing new. However these soundtracks often feel hollow and lackluster without the visual impact of the film itself.
While I can't say that Wall-E escapes this totally in tracks like Septucentennial or The Spaceship. These are definately pieces of music that bolster and draw inspiration from the moving image that they are paired with. On their own they either sound a little silly or simply seem to run out of any place to go.
However almost all of the music tracks on the disc make exceptional listening. There is a vast array of musical styles that have been pinned down to give this soundtrack a defining character.
Wall-E's theme is a beautifully quirky track that sounds like ... Read More:

Classic Zimmer and some. Listen carefully and you hear strains of The Da Vinci Code and Gladiator filtering through. Not a critisism, it's just his style. You'll also here the influences of other classical composers coming through, not unusual. While parlay is a delightful homage to Morricone's scoring to the classic duel in 'Once Upon a Time in the West'. Makes me smile everytime I hear it, and wish it were longer.

Having revealed some shocking facts about the Sohma dictator, Akito, Natsumi Takaya turns her attention to the supporting players.
And the eighteenth volume of "Fruits Basket" turns us back to several favorites -- Hiro, Kisa, Haru and Rin, with a little sprinkling of Yuki and his budding love life. What's more, Takaya throws a wild little twist in near the end, which hints at what will eventually happen to the zodiac.
Rumors are flying that Machi tried to murder her baby brother, surprising Yuki. As he searches for clues to this quiet, strange girl's personality, he also has to deal with one of his fangirls, who is about to graduate and has a parting message for him. The truth of Maki's family life only draws Yuki closer to her.

I ordered this recording the other week. Disney is known for its award-winning soundtracks anyway (or it used to be until the 90s), but the soundtrack for The Little Mermaid has to be their best work. It's Alan Menken at his best.
Jodi Benson is absolutely gorgeous as Ariel. The most memorable songs have to be 'Part of Your World', 'Part of Your World Reprise' and 'Under the Sea'.
This may be obvious to some people, but the songs on this soundtrack are meant to stand by themselves, i.e. certain dialogues that are part of the songs in the movie may be missing here.
CD 1 definitely gets 5 stars from me!
As for CD 2, this one mainly features cover versions. Generally, I think there can't be enough cover versions of good songs. These ones, however, ... Read More:

I wanted to give 0 stars, but it didn't work, this is why I give one!! But it doesn't deserve it!!!
This is simply the worst I have ever seen from Disney and in general in the cartoon section!!
The movie is set in the early 20th century, but the characters act like they would be from the 21st century!! They are also not nicely drawn and the whole story is so horrible, you better watch it yourself to understand what I talk about!!
This is a DVD I have seen only once and happily will sell it if someone is up to it!!

This is one the first albums that I can listen to completetly and say I love each and every song. I had to buy a second copy as I played my original too much that I became worn. This album was the perfect length for my drive from home to university each day. Can't wait for the next album to be released next month.
I don't usually review anything, but love this so much I had to...
