Hed Kandi - Serve Chilled

I have been disappointed with this Hed Kandi Album. What the people are raving about (other reviewers)boggles the mind. For the few (3) nice tracks on the album (both) it is not worth it at all. I cannot recommend it. The label should spend more time on the music selection than on the album artwork.

For me, this was a good purchase. There are hardly any songs I dont like on it, as so happens often with these compilations. It is my first hed kandi CD box that I have bought though and usually steer clear of them. This could change my mind. I particularly like Byron Stingily (Get up everybody) and of course I want your soul by Armand Van Helden. Dont buy if you want something less commercial (although trust me it isnt that commercial!!) mind you if you have a clue what is, then you shouldnt be looking at these CD's anyway!

I agree with the reviewer below in that some of HK's recent releases have been slightly dodgy and appear to be cashing in on the rise in popularity of funky house music. Die hard fans have been complaining for months about the acquisition of the brand from ailing and tyrannical parent MoS, but it seems that the producers of this album have been given a more free reign to take HK back to its roots.
I'm glad CD1 wasn't reprasentative of the whole album, with lots of fairly commercial "heard it all before" tracks, only saved by decent mixing, however CD2 and 3 are subliminal. Hed Kandi Disco Heaven

Really impressed by Disco Heaven 2007. A definite return to pre-2005 kandi form. Strong vocals and uplifting beats define this album as the best installment in the DH series. Highly recommended if you like your disco to put a smile on your face and get you dancing.

if you are an orginal hed kandi listener that got seriously upset by the label being ruined by the monster that is the minstry of sound then this is for you. Its like a step back in time to the original disco kandi days. ministry of sound may have killed hed kandi but thank god doyle started a fresh. buy his albums while you can before the ministry buy out the competetion again

Recently bought & glad I did!

This combines commercial songs together with more unknown tracks that get you boppin and thinkin 'god this is good'.

Can't wait to listen to while I'm gettin ready for my next nite out :0)

Luv Hed Kandi, and with this the legacy continues. I would recommend, but then again I do like my kandi.

Well what can I say..except buy this..!! This has definately hit the mark ( no pun intended ) this time, Fierce Disco ( received as a pressie ) was, for me lacking in direction and content. It too had oldies but didn't work due to the aforementioned..I agree with Mr Barden's synopsis/review totally, however I am not going to mark it down due to the high content of old songs as the re-mixes and flow of the Cd's totally work..CD1 is more laid back and the stand out tracks are 2,3,4, and 10, CD2 and is very reminiscent of Disco Kandi of past..it starts slowly and within a couple of tracks you are up on the dancefloor..CD3 as Mark says Latin House Anthems he doesn't lie and the track listings are there for everyone to see, so why berate the man when he was ...
