This CD has a conservative song selection and a conservative style, which some people may not like. However, the across the board musicianship of this group is superb!! The pitch and harmonies are vastly superior to Il Divo for example, but you have to be able to 'hear' perfect pitch and harmonies and really care about quality, to know the difference.--:)---We don't have classically trained musicians like this in the USA, putting out albums like this anymore, so you don't know how spoiled you are!!-----Blake takes its time in developing its songs and harmonies, and does not AT ALL cater to what will sell!!---They are musicians first and foremost, and if you cannot handle a group's conservative choice to be fantastic singers FIRST ... Teatro

I had decided not to write a review of any album, but I have to for this one. I am now on my third(?) copy I lose track. I can't believe how wonderful their voices are and the charisma they ooze. An unbelievably talented group and all I can say to Sony is "Your loss!" Which is what they are proving at the moment. As well as continuing to perform as the magical Teatro they're individually reaching great heights.
Simon Bailey is Raoul in the new cast of Phantom and wowing them every night. Jeremiah James is about to star in Carousel with Lesley Garrett (which I can't wait to see btw!) and Stephen Rahman-Hughes and Andrew Alexander are both involved in other projects. Rejoice

I'm surprised by the number of reviewers who criticise Katherine because she has not performed in opera and then compare her unfavourably with leading opera singers. Nowhere on this CD (or any of her CDs and DVDs) is she described as an opera singer and her recordings do not claim to be opera. Her recordings do include some arias from opera (though not here) and these are sung very well, but she also includes Welsh songs,(again sadly none on this disc), hyms, songs from musicals and other works. This variety increases that buyers might not like every track. I bought this CD because it contains 'Samcta Maria' set to the music of the Intermezzo from Mascagmi's Cacalleria Rusticana' 'Be Still My Soul' the hymn set to the main theme from Finlandia ... Grotesque, air brushed caricatures nearly put me off buying this. Not in the same league as the inspiringly beautifully natural first cover. WHERE'S THE SIMPLICITY GONE.

Slightly disappointed, just very slightly. I should have listened to my instincts and I wouldn't have missed much. I get more enjoyment from the debut album. This album is all right. But just all right. It's not got what the first album had - good choice of crossover songs. This time around they have picked songs that cannot be improved or sound similar to what's gone before. Shame because I love the first album - its one that I put on when I'm busy and before I know it I end up sitting down putting my feet up and just chillin right through to the end of the album. This late 2007 album is another to add to the collection for Russell Watson fans.Its a little strange to grasp but the mix of classical and pop is sometimes a good one and Russell is the "Daddy" of crossover the Voice as he is also known as because he has power and range beyond most singers classical or pop that are round at the moment.

Voices Of The Valley Encore

This could be any reasonably competent male voice choir. I WAS VERY DIASAPPOINTED WITH IT. It did not have the depth and resonance and passion of a 'proper' Welsh male voice choir like Treorchy.
It seems like a sanitised version.
Nowhere near good enough!!!

The Promise

This is the best CD that Il Divo has ever done. Some of the tracks such as "Power of Love, La Promessa, L'alba Del Mondo are just excellent. Their cover of the song Hallelujah there is no words to describe it, simply excellent comes to mind. The song choice on the album is very diverse. It is a must have CD for any fan.

Tenor At The Movies

Russell Watson! Its pretty obvious, since Russells horrendous illness, that all these young hopefulls come out of the woodwork, trying to do that bit better. Jonathan, very nice though you are, sorry mate, but you've got too much competition nowadays. no one can ever better Russells amazing voice. Need I say more?

Vivere - Greatest Hits

I have this CD on constant repeat! The music is so varied but holds your attention every step of the way. Bocelli's voice is one you just have to fall in love with. His "Romanza" is 1 of my favourites but "Vivo Per Lei" has me hooked also. GET THIS CD!!!!!!

Ryan and Dan make a great duo and the songs in this album justify my words. Their voices just fit especially in "Like The Sun" which is a fantastic piece of music. I would highly recommend this band and their songs to whoever likes listening to truely great singing voices and beautifully constructed and easy-to-listen music.
