Release Date February 25, 2008
This film was really the most unbearable nonsense, the Irish busker/hoover repair man was perhaps the most annoying person ever. The music was awful, he must have been listening to an awful lot of Damien Rice.
Release Date February 25, 2007
Well-crafted songs, an expressive voice, wonderful harmonies, thoughtful lyrics and a lightness of touch on this beautiful collection of acoustic-based melodies. Wonderful.

The Frames are one of those veteran bands who are kings in their own realm but almost unknown beyond its borders. Regularly reaching the top of the album charts in Ireland, the Dublin-based outfit has nevertheless failed to make an international impact.
Perhaps it's the lack of a unique selling point. Cynics might say this is just another generic celtic folk-rock album, where almost every song slow builds to a big anthemic chorus and bungs in a violin solo half-way through. Others might say it wears its influences on its sleeve. "True" is a virtual clone of Radiohead's "Climbing Up The Walls" before it morphs into a weird duet with Hansard's tormented vocals soaring over Czech singer Markéta Irglová's semi-conversational counterpoint. I had only heard the first song when an Irish friend of mine played it... I stopped what I was doing and with eyes bulging out I asked "who is this?", "The Frames" said my friend "they're great, you should hear them live...". And so I looked for a live CD since it was the fastest way I could listen to them live and I got the Set List. Following that, I got so hooked on them I bought three more of their cd's. I cannot believe I'd never heard of them before but I am so thrilled I did eventually. Buy this CD and it will become your favourite, I promise!

i do own a copy of this album produced by Mr Briquette, the fact that i worked for the record company probably helped in acquiring it, i have not heard the other version and don't want to this one is great

Loved the movie, bought the disc. Unlike some movie sound tracks where you wonder how you thought the soundtrack would keep alive the memory of the movie, this one really does. The quirky and independent music mirrors the film's style and characters, witty, unusual and highly entertaining. How can you not love a disc that includes such lyrics as from Kimya Dawson's 'Loose Lips'; "they think we're disposable, well both my thumbs opposable are spelled out on a double word and triple letter score". Awesome.

I've left reviewing this for nine months and literally hundreds of listens. I don't believe that there's ever been another album I've played so often. And there's no sign of my growing tired of it. On the basis of a huge number of plays, I feel qualified to say that this is a truly wonderful album without a single weak track.
After seeing Goldfrapp on two consecutive nights (at Brixton) in November 2008, I couldn't bear to listen to anything other than Goldfrapp. Naturally, I gave their previous three albums fresh listens, as well as Seventh Tree. I was struck by the degree of continuity between the four albums. Some people will tell you that Seventh Tree is quite different from what went before. I no longer think that's true, the four albums mark a ... Read More:
