I have both of Paramores albums, and have to say that this one is my favourite. Its a brilliant album from start to finish, anyone who likes rock/punk kind of music will really enjoy this. Tracks that stand out are "All we know", "Emergency", and a more quiet song "Franklin". Seriously if you havent heard Paramore, then you have to give this a try, you won't be dissappointed!!

A fantastic album for all those emo/scene kids out there! The catchy melodies and well-written lyrics combine with thrash guitar and screeching teen American voices to create the perfect emotional album. My favourite tracks are Adalia and Pandora. Perfect for fans of 30STM, Paramore and The Used. Big thumbs up!

This is one the first albums that I can listen to completetly and say I love each and every song. I had to buy a second copy as I played my original too much that I became worn. This album was the perfect length for my drive from home to university each day. Can't wait for the next album to be released next month.
I don't usually review anything, but love this so much I had to...

If you are a massive fan of their old sound, of the Nu metal, then you should definitely avoid this album. If you are a music fan with an open mind then you should definitely purchase this. The sound that they have created is incredibly different. I really don't know why they changed that much. Once I like a band's sound I really don't like it when they try and reinvent themselves to change that, and that's exactly what Linkin Park have done here. I bought Meteora as my first Linkin Park album back in 2003 and I instantly loved it. The sound of the music was so unique, and to a 13 year old, pretty surprising as well. Meteora was the band's pinnacle and it is such a fantastic album. Then, after a couple of years of no activity from the band, I was highly ... Read More:

I bought this album on the strength of the first track Into Oblivion but was pleasantly surprised by how good the rest of it is. The Great Wide Open is another stand out track. Well worth buying.

On the front of this album is a sticker which proclaims 'this band will change your life'. Hmmmm. Not really though will they. Not in a Stones, Beatles, Dylan, Hendrix, Stone Roses, Smiths, Oasis kind of way. Typical Radio 1/NME hyperbole. This band is average at best. I wanted to like it but couldn't bring myself to. Now, I'm a sucker for long hair and beards on any rock band, that coupled with all the hype and the fact that I had some spare HMV vouchers to burn I thought I'd give this a try. I put the cd in with great expectation. The first song started up, with it's sudden bursts of guitar seemingly out of no where, I actually thought the cd was skipping because it seemed to go on forever. Not a good start. I excused that first faux pas and moved swiftly on, only ... Read More:

... says the opening track of their new album! Well, they may be the same band, but the sound is very different to the amazing 'A fever you can't sweat out'.
Pretty Odd has a more mainstream, polished feel to it - some may say that they've sold out, and have lost that uniqueness that made them so fresh and exciting just a couple of years ago, but I would say that although different, it's not necessarily a bad thing.
It took me a few listens before it grew on me (but then so did the first album) but after the 3rd or 4th time, it really started to get me, and now it's a constant companion on the journey to work - its amazing!
Just don't write them off being giving it a chance, or you may just live to regret it...

As a hugely massive Used fan, ever since their self titled record, this record is not as good as their previous two studio releases.
I bought this record last year before going to see the Used on their UK Taste of Chaos dates, but downloaded it previously to check it out. The main reason I bought it on cd was to add to my collection as I have every release they've ever done and so I could get them to sign it for me, which actually happened. [Random piece of useless information]
It's evident that they've tried to move away from their emo tag, which will always linger with them. However, that doesn't mean I didn't think the album was good.
Their style seemed to change when Brandon left, needless to say Dan is a great replacement.

Notice how the bad reviews for this album came after the release of their second album "Beautiful Lie" and they put "The Kill" on Scuzz and now all the trendy boys like them cause "oooh the singer wears make-up and sings about songs that relate to my pain" and the girls like them cause "oooh he's hot" I mean the fact that one reviewer described the band as "part emo, part goth" just goes to show how lame their fanbase has become.
My advice would be to buy this album and pretend that they fell into a black hole afterwards, because Beautiful Lie sucked and they should be ashamed of themselves for selling out so bad.
