This is one of the best albums i have heard in 2008! it was powerfull lyrics were brilliant and the beats were o so good with bryan michael cox killing 4 of these tracks. Diddy did a brilliant thing by getting these guys together and i have to say im looking forward to there next one already.
AND ABSOLUTE MUST BUY!!

Well i finally bought this album yesterday - the deluxe limited edition digipack version at a 2 for 10 pound offer in HMV (first alarm bell). i thought, ok, i'll give it a go, considering i am kinda a mariah carey fan, and there was a bit of hype at the time.
put it on and did like 'migrate' but it all goes downhill from there. Not as good as Madonna's Hard Candy by 1000000 miles, and has sold less (second alarm bell).
The only thing i liked was the album artwork and colour scheme. I think mariah is out of ideas now and this album proves it. This is the lowest selling album of her career to date.....oh dear......
Very, Very overrated!

I love this album and think it's very fun, quirky and different from anythin' else out at the moment. An impressive debut for such a young girl. My advice is don't judge this album too quickly. It's filled with many different styles of music from pure fun pop to sugary sweet mid tempo R&B ballads, dance, electronic, this album has it all! Fresh, creative, quirky, upbeat, fun and original is how I would describe it. A really good try and definitely worth a listen!

Here I Stand

This album consists mainly of slow tracks but not all are typical ballads. Some are soulful reflections on life and relationships. The music itself is a mix of neo classical soul and modern R n B. This combination may lead to audiences responding to the familiarity of the modern beat and then eschewing the other creative material.

Basically your ability to appreciate this music depends on your ablity to appreciate talent in song writing, vocal delivery and the arrangement of strong vocals with the right accompaniment. If you can appreciate these, this album wil inspire you and will call you back time and again, even in 5 or ten years. I'm not sure why there isn't an option to give half stars on these reviews, but if it was possible I'd give this album four and a half. The half is deducted purely because it's just too long - I think most people would agree that 18 tracks is too many, whoever the artist. By removing four or five of the weaker tracks they could have created the perfect album. That said, I was pleasantly surprised to find that there isn't a single terrible song on here, just a few that I could have done without. If I was playing producer, I would have cut Out of this Club (my least favourite, but then I've never been a fan of R Kelly), Who's Gonna Love You, Lights, Camera, Action (again, because I can't stand New Kids on the Block) and Love the Way You Love Me. This has to be one of the best albums I have bought in a long time. Every track is good usually there is always a couple of songs that don't do it for you but every track is great.

This is my first Neyo CD but not the last.

I have never really been a fan of Ashanti's music. She has had some good singles but never really any good, solid albums...until now! Ashanti has definitely improved vocally, lyrically (she writes her own songs) and just delivers somethin' different from anythin' I've heard on her previous releases. If you like contemporary R&B then this CD is worth a listen. I respect Ashanti for tryin' somethin' a little different from her usual. As an album I'd say it was her best so far.

Estelle has a good voice no doubt about it and American Boy is one of the songs of the summer. Sadly, such elements have failed to contribute to a memorable album which feels like a rushed cash in with production values so tired, you can ever hear them yawn!

American Boy sounded really fresh with a brilliant use of horns but the rest of the album is just derivative R&B that could have been produced by any female artist within the genre. Estelle struggles to stamp her own identity on any of the tracks and she just sounds like a vocalist singing someone else's work. Generally there is little passion and soul in this, I found myself barely noticing any differences between tracks. As a result, it feels more like lounge music than anything else.

Having watched Dreamgirls time and time again and it having become my favourite all-time film I was destined to buy this new offering from its star-Jennifer Hudson. I already knew that Jennifer was a fantastically talented vocalist, but I did wonder how that would translate into a music album. As it turns out I was wrong to have doubts as this is a brilliant album and in no way sounds like a debut, but instead like the work of a mature and accomplished artist.
1.Spotlight-This was clearly demarkated as the first single with its catchy hook and mid-tempo beat. Great! 9/10
2.If This Isn't Love-A super track, which tends to blend a bit in comparison with some of the other more powerful numbers. 8/10
