I absolutely love this album. I love it even more than Sabrina's first album (Equilibria) although that is brilliant too. I can highly recommend it to anyone who loves modern brazilian music. It's fresh and when you listen to it you might think that summer is here, even on a cold winter day.

An improvement over "I Can't Stop" and "Everything's OK". Excellent collaborations. Still not quite as good as his work in the 1970s (is Al Green the top male soul singer ever ?). Recommended to old and new fans.

I just felt completely compelled to write my first ever review for this special album. I bought this on a recommendation from Amazon, thank you Amazon. To say that this album is good is an understatement, it's exceptional! Ceu's voice conveys a superb depth of emotion; her soothing sultry tones tug you right into the soul of the music. This emotionality is also coupled with a fine vocal texture that you can reach out and touch, I find this aspect of her voice completely addictive.
This is an album that you simply must listen to if you have an interest in world music. The musical accompaniment is also excellent with its restraint. You can look to other reviews for comparisons with other musicians and comments on her musical influences, ... Read More:

I heard this album, whilst on holiday in Girona (Spain).
It is a must buy album. Even if you can't understand Spanish, she has a wonderful voice. It has a contemporary-jazzy sound without losing the traditional Espanic feeling. thanks for readind DaveyT.

I know and accept that we are all entitled to our opinions, but I find the one-star review for this CD given by one of the listeners impossible and, to be quite honest, a bit of an insult to serious jazz listeners, not to mention the great Cassandra Wilson herself, one of (possibly the best) the best jazz singers of her generation. I have this and all of her other albums, and I find this one particularly masterful in it's execution. The voice sounds fresher than ever and the musicians playing with her are nothing short of superb, each a master in his own right. To dismiss this as "dinner music" (as some apparently have) misses the point of the album entirely. In "Loverly", Wilson takes familiar music and transforms it, with elegance, intelligence and surperb ... Read More:

Just magnificent! A wonderful tribute to the work of a trio who pushed the boundaries of jazz. A wall of sound for the 21st century.

in these days of bland simon cowell pap music , its great to hear an album by a real singer. this is a lush gorgeous album.

This is really a nice discovery, if you don't know Melody Gardot's tunes. I didn't know of her before listening to this, and I was pleasantly surprised to find the awful cover concealed a tight little collection of songs. The production takes up the baton from, say, Ray La Montagne or Madeleine Peyroux, if you happen to know either of those chaps, being all smoky clubs and drum brushes and minor key niceness. Though it could be said to threaten, it never drops into hokey caricature, but delivers I think an honest collection of songs, well worth repeated listening.
