Pretty. Odd.

... says the opening track of their new album! Well, they may be the same band, but the sound is very different to the amazing 'A fever you can't sweat out'.

Pretty Odd has a more mainstream, polished feel to it - some may say that they've sold out, and have lost that uniqueness that made them so fresh and exciting just a couple of years ago, but I would say that although different, it's not necessarily a bad thing.

It took me a few listens before it grew on me (but then so did the first album) but after the 3rd or 4th time, it really started to get me, and now it's a constant companion on the journey to work - its amazing!

Just don't write them off being giving it a chance, or you may just live to regret ... Read More:

Riot

I first heard about Paramore eariler on this year, my friend told me to listen to Until Tomorrow and I fell in love with the band. Hayley is an awesome singer and Riot! is now one of my favourite albums. CrushCrushCrush and That's What You Get have to be two of the best songs on the album and I think everyone should get it lol....god I ramble....

Simple Plan

This album is far different from the previous two albums. The Style of the music i think is something fresh and new but at the same time has that simple plan theme to it.

Every track on this album is a classic but the ones that stand above the rest:

Your Love Is A Lie
When I'm Gone
Save You
I Can Wait Forever
Holding On

I'm a big fan of this band and have really loved what they have released so far with this self titled album being their best yet. i also have to point out that the use of a swear word at first shocked me but now i think it fits the song 'Your Love Is A Lie' (which is my fav track above the ones i listed)

OK, critics will say this is another very regional accent sounding album, one of many artists like that at the moment (artic monkeys, reverand and the makers etc.) but saying that, this is a very good album for me. Nice easy listening, catchy without being nasty pop music. Dont expect anything too deep, but good iPod music, especially when the sun shines. Follows on nicely from the last album. It's on my playlist!

Not a pendulum fan? neither was i really, but i decided to buy the album because i'd never listened to there music properly. depending on the mood, this is why 4 not 5 stars, all the songs in this great album will get you moving some part of your body to. recommended!

Started A Fire

I bought this album when Amazon recommended it to me as I've bought Guillemots, Pigeon Detective, Kooks, etc music from here. The album is a good album, and fits in perfectly with the indie sound and scene. However, it is a little too generic for my liking.

They can play and they can sing and clearly have talent but I feel they need to try and develop their own sound and a unique selling point for themselves as although they're good, they're not great and will end up being just another one of many similar indie bands.

This is, for me, a 3 star effort. I hope their next offering is more unique.

Dreaming Out Loud

I know that this band has influences from Coldplay and Keane, but they are much better than those bands in my opinion. I thought Keane's singles from the last album were great, especially Crystal ball, so I think this is more like the new Keane than the old Keane. Although I think OneRepublic is their own individual band and maybe they shouldn't be compared.
When I first heard this band's song re-mixed by Timbaland, I wasn't expecting the band to do any solo songs because I thought it was sort of organised by Timblalnd, but it turns out that Timbaland re-mixed OneRepublic's version of Apologize and made it sound better. A fantastic album for all those emo/scene kids out there! The catchy melodies and well-written lyrics combine with thrash guitar and screeching teen American voices to create the perfect emotional album. My favourite tracks are Adalia and Pandora. Perfect for fans of 30STM, Paramore and The Used. Big thumbs up!
