well after a few good reports i finally brought the album and i will have to admit after 15 times listening to it i am still dissappointed, yes the raw musical power is back with some great gitar work and drum work, but and heres the massive but for me there are no songs on there that are truely great songs the lirics to me seemed to be totaly forgotten, indeed even on the 15th play i couldn't sing along to any songs (even while driving along with the music turned up) at least with st anger you had a couple of tracks that blew me away
don't know what went wrong but this ain't in my top 10 of metallica albums

I bought this when it was first released on vinyl and video...and it is just as impeccable now. One of the greatest tours from one of the greatest bands, this gig stands the test of time and countless....and I DO mean countless....viewings. Metal at its finest.

It's strange to see how split opinions are on this album but I'm sure David Coverdale would rather elicit strong views either way than just have everyone say "Yes, it's okay I suppose".
Personally I wasn't overly impressed when I first played it. In fact I was very disappointed. However, as Whitesnake played such an important role in my musical development I persevered for a couple more listens and boy am I glad I did. While it is not perfect, it is still a very strong addition to the catalogue. I'd advise those of you who binned it earlier to revisit it and you might just realise that you made a mistake.

The answer is...YES of course it is! I was initially put off as, if you own all of Maiden's previous albums, you will already have exactly the same songs as what is on this new best of album. The CD version is great for those who are new to Iron Maiden, as it's a good starting ground for those who wouldn't know where to begin with Iron Maiden's extensive back catalogue! However, I would definately recommend the vinyl version of this album to all Iron Maiden fans out there. It's a real beauty! As you know vinyl's artwork is always better than the quality of a CD, but as you open the casing up, the design of it is fantastic, all the artwork of singles and albums between 1980 and 1989 are peeping through missing bricks of a pyramid wall, as well as all the ... Slightly better than Stiff Upper Lip, but not as good as Razors Edge. Not quite a classic album because there's too many flat tracks here. Having said that I've played it many times and punch my fist in the air in enjoyment. The stand out tracks are Runnaway Train, Big Jack, War Machine, Spoiling for a fight, and Rocking all the way. All in all, if you're a fan, buy it, play it and get rocking!

Brilliant album,no soppy ballards here, all killer,no filler as they say. This is the sort of album the Darkness should have made (and were capable of).Every track a classic.Seen the band live and they are incredible, like AC/DC but on speed.Buy it now and sell your grandmother if you have to,to get tickets for a live show.

This is another magical Iron maiden heavy metal masterpiece. The whole album is a classic and one of their best but it's impossible to pick a best iron maiden album. From the classic Aces High to the classic 13 minutes long Rime Of The Ancient Mariner it's all classic heavy metal. You may be reading the reviews seeing some people saying one song is bad on this album no their isn't this whole album is a masterpiece(as i mentioned already). If i had to pick some favourite songs it would be aces high, flash of the blade, powerslave & rime of the ancient mariner . This is the perfect start to Iron Maiden the albums Number Of The Beast, Piece Of Mind and this are the albums everyone should start off with with maiden. In fact why havnt you bought an iron maiden album ... Read More:

'Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son' is the first Iron Maiden album I ever bought (quickly followed by everything before or since!) and I have to say it is one I still love after all these years. From the racing album opener 'Moonchild' to storming tracks such as 'Evil That Men Do', 'Clairvoyant' and 'Infinite Dreams' and more besides, this album produces one amazing song after another. In fact I'd go so far to say that this is one of those rare albums where every track is worthy of inclusion and adds to the overall feel of the album. This was initially snubbed by some Maiden fans for it's use of keyboards, but is often recognised as the classic it always was now hindsight can be applied. A great first port of call for new maiden fans, but be warned, like me, you will want to ... Read More:
