Great film, awesome performance by the Joker and 2 face. However, there are 2 reasons why i only gave this film 4 stars.
1. Batmans voice is ridiculous. Its the worse put on gravely voice in film and really grinds on me, esp the last scene with the joker.
2. Why oh why is that goon Caine, Alfred the butler. Cockney butler for one of the worlds richest tycoons - unlikely. I prefered Michael Gough, a classy English accent.

Director Christopher Nolan dispenses with the services of his regular Minimalist/Ambient composer, David Julyan, in favour of Hollywood heavyweights, Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard, who ironically come up with a very Julyan-esque score. Dark and austere, like Nolan's masterful film, these atmospheric Minimalist pieces are a million miles from the whimsy of Danny Elfman and the bombast of Elliot Goldenthal, and come across like Philip Glass on steroids. Just as Nolan reinvented the Batman franchise, Zimmer and Howard create a totally original soundscape to complement the movie.
Bleak, disturbing and thrilling this is film scoring of the highest order.

This is a great `Bento Box' pack to feed the imagination of graphic novel, anime, comic & movie fan.
Warner Bros & DC presents 6 tasty takes on Batman, much as you would find in any great comic shop, where illustrators and writers since the 1940's have given their own take on the Batman. How he looks, how Gotham looks & how others perceive him.
Kevin Conroy,(Batman the Animated Series) , is back to provide the deep rasping tones to this Bat of few words which is the only consistent element, but he is in great company with a plethora of characters. In the Batman's corner Allen & Ramirez, Alfred & Gordon Vs Arkham Inmates Scarecrow & Croc and the impeccable Deadshot.

This was my first introduction to more "adult orientated" graphic novels (as opposed to comics). I bought it on a whim after seeing the cover featured in a TV programme hyping the 1989 Tim Burton Batman movie, and it was a real eye-opener. The tone is certainly much darker than the image of Batman which I'd grown up with (ie Adam West in all his campness) and provides a fascinating origin for the Joker. He comes across as an ordinary man driven beyond his capacity for reason, instead of the stereotypical insane clown of lazier Batman stories. (In fact the entire story is based around his "one bad day is all it takes" philosophy...)
The story itself is short but all the more effective for it, with some beautifully - if chillingly - drawn characters. The ... Read More:

Overall, a good soundtrack, with nice references back to Casino Royale. But, where on earth is the end credits music? It's missing. Shame on Sony, as this was great.

On principle, I want to give this book 5 stars. If you buy it, as I did, you will certainly not be disappointed. I, like many of the other reviewers, have an issue with that this book is supposed to be; "The Art of The Dark Knight". This isn't an art book; it's a combination of an art book and the screenplay; but not the final shooting script as far as I can assess. One nice detail, however, about the script is that effort has been put into the presentation of the script, with the pages littered with shots from the corresponding scenes alongside the script itself. There are a few differences between the script and what was executed by the cast, but overall it's very similar. If you loved this movie, then there is no reason why you shouldn't get this. It's a big, heavy book ... Read More:

Composer John Williams does an elegant job revisiting his classic "Indiana Jones" themes from the original trilogy, along with some well-written new music for "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull". It was a most wonderful surprise hearing "Marion's Theme" from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" again. But I was quite impressed with the surreal "Call of the Crystal" with its almost otherworldly three note motif and "Irina's Theme", which is yet another superb example of "sinister" film music along the lines of a softer, but no less menacing "Imperial March" from the original "Star Wars" trilogy. While I won't rate this fine score as among John Williams' very best (e. g. "Schindler's List" and "Angela's Ashes" among others), it is still among his finest, and one worth listening ... Read More:

Could the movie live up to the hype? Most definitely. Buy this film if only to see Heath Ledger's portrayal of Batman's arch-enemy the Joker. His performance is worth the cost of the blu-ray alone. I always though that Jack Nicholson's performance would set the standard, but Heath Ledger's Joker knocks that into a hat.
This is a continuance of the Dark Knight created originally by Bob Kane and later re-invented by Frank Miller. Batman ain't Mr NIce Guy and nor should he be. In fact Batman comes across as harder and possibly mentally unstable but then again to wear latex and a cape you have to be a bit mad.
If I found one fault in the film, it would be that it is too long. I would have rather this had been extended and made in too parts like Kill Bill. That ... Read More:

After all the hype and reading the reviews I was disappointed with the sound and picture quality. The story and content was great, but was it in Blu-ray? yes but it was not up to the normal Blu-ray standard, my DVD player upgrades my normal DVD,s to 1080p and the quality is far better than this Blu-ray film. To much of the film had dark scenes therefor the Blu-ray was unable to exploit the full contrast quality with bright outside scenes

The overwhelming success of the Spider-Man and X-Men trilogies revitalised interest and credibility in superhero movies since the original Batman and Superman film franchises fell into great decline. Since then, floodgates have been opened, allowing all kinds of Marvel heroes to have a shot at cinematic stardom.
Although (in my opinion) there haven't been any truly horrible Marvel films, the majority of these haven't lived up to the hype as they could've done. For example, Daredevil, Hulk, Fantastic Four (the first film) had all the necessary tools to be on a par with any of the X-Men/Spider-Man films, yet they weren't.
So now, we have Iron Man, the next Marvel legend in line for a big superhero film. When I saw the first trailer, it looked promising (like so many other movies ... Read More:
