The State

First off, The State is the second best album by Nickelback(slightly inferior to Curb). Worthy to say is definitely the best song here, I've tried but find it difficult to find comparisons for this song.
Not Leavin' Yet is great and can be compared to Where do I hide. Cowboy Hat also is a great song musically and lyrically, perhaps the best lyrically. (no comparisons have been found.) Leader of Men is the biggest hit and reminds me a great deal of Nirvana's Come as you are.
There is no one clear comparison for the state though perhaps the best is The Long Road

Dark Horse

Dark Horse, much like All The Right Reasons, takes a step forward in the production and sound structure. There are more riffs, more solos (at last) and smoother vocal harmonies. All for the better if you like melodic rock.
Unfortunately the lyrics are silly, crude and to some (see other reviews) tasteless. I can personally get over that as a song to me is the sound that hooks me, not the lyrics.
The production is sleek, unsurprising as Mutt Lange had co-production duties (Mutt is the Spielberg/Cameron of music producers).

This album is not as strong or diverse as All The Right Reasons, but it is still a good solid album. If you're into Classic Melodic Rock more than hard heavy rock, this album will be for you.

All the Right Reasons

I once saw an interview where Chad Kroeger said he asked fans what made How You Remind Me work. People said the chorus, the catchy riffs etc. So basically that's what the man cares about which disheartens me. I bought The Long Road and I really like Someday, but on every album they make 3 or 4 singles and the rest appears to be just filler, something to pad it out to called it an album. Hopefully Nickelback realise their sell out status and make music for the right reasons, as the album title misleads.

A brilliant collection of lovely videos. Its a real shame the opening screen is backed by the rockstar song. It's true what they say, when it comes to Nickleback, that the worse the song the more popular it is. Why could it not be one of the others? A great DVD, with a video I hadn't even seen.

Really lovely present for me. Go on... treat yourself. :-)

However, the album- The long road is completely different, the first track, Flat on the floor is extremely fast paced and much more intense than some of their later singles (How you remind me and Rockstar).

This album is more heavy rock and grunge than other things in the charts at the moment. This is great if you would like rock to take over the charts once again. Warning! This is not a ¡¥feel good¡¦ album- it contains subjects of dark matter. E.g.

I bought this DVD expecting to see an edited version of a live show with all the usual glitches and hitches. Not so! This is a FATNTASTIC DVD - not only is the music out of this world, but there are SO many more features to this DVD.
