After hearing A-Punk what sane music lover couldn't want this album?
But with few tracks being as fun or catchy I was slightly disappointed. The album failed to make me bop continuously for the 34.2 minutes like i was expecting instead bringing out a slightly less catchy side. It's still listenable... Just not as listenable as I wanted it to be.

I'm only writing a review to let you know that when it says its coming from Amazon, it actually from a company in Jersy "Indigostarfish".
It's all in good condition, but when it says NEW, I expect it to be wrapped in plastic, so I can break the seal. This wasn't!
I didn't want to leave this feedback here, but you can't rate Amazon itself.
Back to the music, in short this album is awesome.
When first heard I thought what a good album, but it gets better and now is a great album. ONE OF THE BEST!!!

I got this for nothing, fortunately. I can't understand all the comparisons with Scott Walker. Yes, there is an orchestra involved and the arrangements are very full and reminiscent of the sixties but the voice!!! Aargh! It's horrible. And the lyrics are pathetic. Overrated, overstated, overblown. It gets two stars for the very good musicianship and interesting arrangements. But that voice...

I first heard of Foals through a friend and egged me on to buy their album, the opening of the French Open grabbed my attention, such a classy intro of guitars and the slow build up
My favourite 2 tracks on the album are Cassius and Red Sock Pugie, Cassius opens with plucky guitar and collective vocals, an interesting sound that will grow on you, all the way through the album it changes stance and will then come in with something different, the final track Tron i thought was just going to be an indie album filler, but it again builds up and just gives you that feeling of leaving you wanting more.
Superb debut album and in my current top 20 albums ever.
If you like Foals and are Electro-indie inclined try Late ... Read More:

'The Warning' was, if not quite a stunner, a bit of a hottie. This quite simply is not.
Why include three soul ballads if none of them is a patch on 'Look After Me' from the last release? These deathly dull tracks in particular bring the album crashing down. Other songs come across as in jokes and failed experiments - I'm looking at you 'Wrestlers' and 'Bendable Posable'.
The first three songs do show signs of life, 'Ready for the Floor' is a great single (partly due to the fantastic video) and there are other flashes of near brilliance in the intro to 'One Pure Thought' and the genuinely amusing spoken word section of 'Bendable Posable' - but at this stage of the game more is expected.

I'm rarely grabbed by a music video but I was by 'Hurricane Jane' from this debut and had to investigate. It remains a guilty pleasure - as does 'Teach Your Boyfriend' - another enjoyable single. To that short list I'd add 'Making Eyes' as a pretty decent effort.
Those three tracks ARE the album - great Cure meets Bloc Party meets disco pop songs. At a real push 'Listen to Your Body' is a serviceable indie disco stomper but I'm already getting desperate here. The rest ranges from uninspiring to truly awful (the last 2 songs are unlistenable). Just burn those three songs and have a warm bath to try and wash away the dirty feeling of listening to the rest!

In an entertainment business full of faked stance and faux emotion, all of a sudden something REAL has come along. Glasvegas are tough, rough around the edges but ultimately this is the genuinely most affecting releases not just in 2008 but for many years.
Let's be clear about this, 'Glasvegas' aren't romanticised 'loser' jangle from the bedroom of a semi-detached, this is raw anguish, the sound of souls being shreaded by the dismal reality of life on the streets of the East End of Glasgow. The album covers such topics as gang violence, disfunctional families and perhaps most of all the utter desperation of the poverty trap and the yearning for a better life.
If all this sounds a little dreary, like a Ken Loach film set to music, ... Read More:
