Ignore the politics of Mark Doyle, Hed Kandi, Fierce Angel, honestly ignore that. The track listing on CD1, the apparently "twisted side of dance" begins with a remix of an Adele track and then a Daniel Beddingfield song. Robin S appears somewhere on one of the other mindless cds yet again with show me love for the 345th time this year.
Nuff said, for those of you with a tenner to spend save it for a kebab, this album is beyond credible and yes, I bought it

I am an incredible fan of the beach compilation, and again have HK delivered.
A great sound for the summer but there are a few re-occuring songs but hey it's still sounds great.

WOW!! Blown away with the end of this promo CD!!

Ok, forget tracks 1-10 tho there are a few good tracks there to fumble with now and again and get straight to track 11 and leave it to play from there. Smooth as! Love it!! Takes me right back to the White Isle and a great mix here.

At a fiver this CD is an absolute bargain!

My mouse hovered over the fifth star for more than a minute as I tried to decide what to give this album. In the end it clicked on the 4. A five would have required Walked Out This Morning & Drive to be included on another compilation, perhaps the top 10 of worst lift tunes.
The rest though is sheer chill out heaven - a mixture of melancholy, sentimentalism, hope, excitement and anticipation delivered in true HK style.
24 tracks made it my ipod. A success rate not seen since Beach House 2006. The bar is back where it belongs. Well done HK.

This year's Beach Angel release sees Mark digging deep in the vaults for almost three cds worth of classic Beach anthems. That's fair enough if you're new to the whole Fierce Angel series but for those who own most of the summer cds from FIERCE ANGEL/HED KANDI there is no point in purchasing this compilation.

Yes, some of the tunes are fantastic, I did really enjoy CD 1 especially the Barbara Mendes track (sweet), but CD 2 & 3 didn't really appeal to me for some reason.

This album could have been so much better had a bit more forethought and effort gone in to including up and coming artists and tracks. There is a wealth of deep & latin house out at the moment and it's a real shame that there aren't many 2008 ... Read More:

Fierce Angel Presents: Es Vive 2008

...of Mark Doyle..there has been little consistency since he set up Fierce..I find this compilation frustrating..the first is named Poolside Chill, whilst undoubtedly a fine collection of songs more for after club relaxing or cosying by fireside after day on slopes etc, doesn't conjure images of the White Isle or sunny climes..The 2nd CD is a collection re-hashed oldies and some cheesey efforts where MD has let the standard slip considerably..The 3rd is very electro and flows quite well, however a few oldies in there as well..I think the only people that will get this, are the genuine and regular visitors to Es Vive and Base Bar..In my view HK are getting all the decent tunes and mixes at the moment, but for me it's swings and roundabouts when ... I have to say that hed kandi have done a great job here they really have captured the sounds of ibiza this year! Unlike ministry who seem to just use the word ibiza for some kind of commercial gain and slap anything together and sometimes its debateble if it has been mixed at all. If your'e wanting cd's that represent ibiza this year with precision mixing you'll not go wrong here an allround top mix from start to finish... Wait for the sun to shine (it will one day) grab a cold beer and get in the garden with the tunes on and you'd think you were on bora bora beach ;) Niiiiiiice!

Just got it, and boy do HED KANDI deliver!!
A lot of old classic tunes, and a lot from previous back to love.
But this should not discourage you.
